Eastside Transmission

Eastside Transmission test drove the car and indicated it was shifting normally. They tried to identify any fault code associated with the "Transmission Fault" light but was unable to find any. They recommended putting off the routine maintenance and continue to monitor the transmission performance for a while. There was no charge for their time which I appreciated.

Steven and Terrance were awesome. Very, very thorough. Found problems that I don't believe the dealer would have caught. They were honest and helpful. While $3k was more than I had hoped to pay, I do believe I got my money's worth. My transmission was rebuilt at 75k miles (through the dealer). The car now has 128k miles on it and I believe that it will go many more years/miles. If I need more work done (hope not), I would not hesitate to go to Eastside Transmission, again.

Terrance was very professional as well as knowledgable. My trans was rebuilt and bench tested but yet to be reinstalled. I'm still restoring the car. I was not charged for an additional shaft that was discovered post my quote plus I received an Angie discount free gratis. I would go to Eastside for my next need. Wish that I had received a sooner call on the status of the repair, but nonetheless turnaround was very satisfactory.

While he unfortunately had bad news to deliver about the transmission and wheel bearing he provided a number of options for repair. His options all included both getting the job done right and my wallet as well. He was very understanding of our situation and what made sense to not pour money in a car that wasn't worth it. Terrance probably loses income by being honest and transparent with his business, but he'll will have me as a customer for the future. I'd feel comfortable sending anyone that didn't know much about cars to see Terrance at Eastside Transmission and even those that do!

Thought I had a transmission problem. Terrance listened to my symptoms and told me it was one of three problems. Two related to the engine and one to the transmission. I appreciated his patience in explaining the various possibilities and costs - I like knowing what the possibilities are and if they make logical sense to me. They did a fair amount of diagnosing the problem - test drives with monitors attached - and concluded that at least part of the problem was the spark plugs. The engine was just not firing correctly when it was under load. The next problem was taking out the spark plugs - they were rusted in place and it took patience and time to get them out without harming the engine block. This required an overnight stay at the shop - unexpected but I was happy they didn't rush the process and strip the plugs. Terrance recommended that I go with just the spark plugs rather than go to the expense of fixing the other components that would add $800 to the bill. He explained that they could be easily changed later if necessary but he was pretty sure the spark plugs would solve the problem. I appreciate his candor and the fact that he was thinking about my pocketbook also.

The transmission rebuild took 4 weeks when they had given me an estimate of 2 weeks. They sent out the housing to be resurfaced and that other shop's machine was out of service for two weeks. This was not the fault of Eastside Transmission but they did not call me or keep me informed - I had to call them. In the end they gave me a discount of about $200.00 for the delay.

They were courteous and their price was fair. They got the work done in a timely fashion.

Our truck is a '96 Ford F-250 that was in need of nothing but a tranny. Worked with Terrance to get the details of the job ironed out. All went smoothly and according to plan. Terrance was very good at answering the many questions I had; polite and professional, his knowledge of the Ford E4OD tranny and it's quirks is far more than I expected. I explained that the truck would be used for heavy towing and he was able to relate to me in terms I could understand what improvements could be made to make the tranny more reliable. The results so far are just fine. The tranny performs as expected, with no problems. Terrance was also able to work with my schedule (and to accommodate the fact that I drove 25 miles for the job) to get follow-up checks done. I expect to be able to tow some big toys with it and for a long way. I have no doubt the old Ford could get a 30 foot trailer over Snoqualmie Pass with no problem.

He thoroughly checked my car's transmission and after telling me that I should replace it, I asked him how much the inspection would cost and he told me it was free of charge. I was very impressed with his professionalism and customer service. I will definitely go to him if I decide to replace my transmission.

Eastside transmission saved us over $3500 dollars by repairing the transmission in our Jeep. Other mechanics and transmission shops all said that the transmission needed to be replaced at a cost of almost $4600. Eastside felt confident that the solenoids and a few other parts would resolve the issues and they were right. It did take a day longer then expected, however, that was because they felt that one of the solenoids was potentially faulty and replaced it before returning the vehicle to us.

Eastside diagnosed by problem and fixed my transmission exactly when they promised. The price was as quoted, and I have been driving my car for a year now and the transmission is still humming along. I would definitely recommend Eastside Transmission, and I'll go there again if needed.

It went very well I was impressed with the shops qualifications and professionalism. They had experienced and honest mechanics with honest priceses. highly reccomend this shop.

I brought my diesel pickup to Eastside Transmission with a shifting problem. They got it in the next day, tinkered with it and fixed the problem. They said it was a simple fix so no charge. I will definately go back if I need transmission work.

I didn't have the time or money to get the leak fixed, so they topped off the fluids, and told me to bring it back when I had the time and money.

They inform me about the entire procedures, they also provided me with a tour of the facility. The manager explained the price and the material used. They did an excellent job.

Once we picked up the pick up truck and a new transmission was installed, the truck ran like a brand new one! We are very impressed with the professionalism and overall service provided by Eastside Transmission.

They are triple A, I rate them high and I think they do an excellent job. They seem to honest and willing to talk to you about the complexities of transmissions.
