Conner Homes has a reputation of being a good home builder so we bought a new build home in one of the communities they were selling in 2013. A pro or con, depending on how customized (read costly) you want your house to be, is that didn't provide a lot of choices for surfaces and paint colors and limited the number of options and upgrades. The sales team was fairly responsive, professional and personable overall throughout my 6-month experience while the house was being built. The orientation and closing were fairly smooth with a couple of hitches at the end that Conner was eager and responsive in helping resolve the issues (such as lighting misplacement and a missing section of fence). Obviously, they wanted to sell me a house and close on it.
Where they fall on the job and the reason for the and quot;Cand quot; rating is the after sale experience with customer service and the warranty department. Any new house is going to have issues that will develop over the first year or wasn't discovered at closing. That means that as a homeowner, I spent most of the first year and a half dealing with the warranty department. The customer service rep was always polite and cordial and the manager was friendly in person. However, responsiveness and follow-through is where they are lacking. I had to follow up on so many issues to see if anything was scheduled, or when it was scheduled. Sometimes contractors did not show up. Sometimes contractors would show up at my door without any notice to me. For instance, some movers showed up at my door for a floor fix and I was never given any notice of it and Conner never apologized for this comical snafu and tried to blame it on me. No one ever followed up on the warranty work that was performed. I was often told that items were not in and quot;warrantyand quot; or that an issue that I had was and quot;normaland quot; so I had to just live with it. Things they told me they would take care of, I had to constantly follow up with. It became so that I dreaded contacting them about any service items because it would often become a battle, and I am a reasonable person that does not likes conflict. The contractors they used were a mixed bag but I had so many problems that it seemed to outweigh the good. One plumber was surly and left a mess. The drywall repair tech had to come back 4 times to fix the same items or nail pops that he forgot or over textured. A painter painted my door with a sprayer and got tiny droplets of paint distributed all over my house, including the second floor via the air ducts, which turned my furnace filter pink.
Overall, I would really think twice about buying another brand new Conner home due to my warranty service. I really hope they add more staff or somehow fix their warranty department because it is mess.

We have used Conner Homes to build three new construction houses including a new custom home recently. Their service and build quality is excellent. Their project manager and superintendent are both very professional and flexible during the entire process. We are happy with the home purchase and service from Conner. We will for sure be their repeated and repeated customers in the future.
