It's a long story, as you might imagine if you've been paying attention to the real market the last few years. I interviewed a bunch of agents and hired one my husband had used previously in Seattle, but he didn't understand the market in Kirkland at all, and this quickly became obvious. It was critical to have a really good agent if we wanted to get our house sold without losing our shirt on it. We started over, and I found Cindy on Angie's list. She is the consummate professional, and works very hard and very smart.

Cindy helped me stage the house to maximize the appeal. She publicized and advertised the listing in many ways, including having it's own website and having a call-in number where people could listen to recorded information. She did a beautiful job on the brochure, and kept the brochure holder on the sign constantly full. Every time there was a showing, she followed up, and if the buyer was at all interested, she continued following up.

The house sold in about six weeks, even though our first buyers backed out for no reason, and we had to start over again. Even after it sold, I watched listings in the neighborhood. No other house similar to ours sold for the next six months. Phew! We were really blessed to have Cindy working for us!

Then Cindy turned around and helped us land our perfect little cottage in our first-choice neighborhood (Loyal Heights), in a perfect location within that neighborhood. The real estate market in Ballard was still very competitive in spite of the downturn, and houses like we wanted were not sitting on the shelf. But we got it, and she even managed to negotiate some closing costs and repairs for us.

If you're thinking about having Cindy help you buy or sell, just go for it!

Cindy just sold our house in the midst of the worst selling climate in recent memory. I've dealt with a lot of real estate agents, and Cindy stands out from them all. Before our listing went live, she went through the house and helped stage it, and spent hours with a professional photographer getting just the right shots. For the listing, she used all of the latest selling tools, including a web site dedicated to our home (in addition to the regular real estate site postings), instant messaging number on the sale sign, fliers distributed to the entire neighborhood, brokers opens --- on and on. You get the idea. She was dogged in following up with buyer's agents and making sure their questions were answered. She didn't let a single thing drop through the cracks, was always available for anything that was needed, and was unwaveringly positive throughout the whole process. If you need to buy or sell in the Seattle area, I highly recommend Cindy as your agent.

We flew out for a househunting weekend, and Cindy spoke with us ahead of time to determine our needs and desires so she could tailor the weekend's showings most effectively. She met us at the hotel and had packets of info on each home she was going to show us. She was very pleasant to work with, very well prepared, very responsive to calls and emails during that weekend as well as throughout the entire process. She listened carefully to our reactions and adjusted the showings to increase the chances of finding the right home at the right price. She then represented us in the pricing negotiations, met with the inspector (as we were back in MN at that point), and more. We love our new home and we really enjoyed working with Cindy. She was very much on top of things, and helped smooth the process for us.
