BENNETT HOMES

we bought a high end spec home from Bennett in Suncadia. The follow up was horrendous. This was a 2000 sq. ft. home that they sold for 1M $. That been said the services were worse then that of a builder of shoddy starter homes. They tried to jack up the price of modifications by as much as 5X retail. Keep in mind when you sell 2000 square feet for 1 million there is a huge margin.... then to try to take advantage of the customer on top of that.... c'mon! They promised floor outlets.... nothing. They promised follow up.... when I made calls for assistance .... nothing. 48 hours before closing, on the walk through my wife saw that they had installed the wrong tiles in the wrong bathrooms. We pointed it out and they told us they would only look into the discrepancy after we closed. I refused to close unless it was look into immediately as it was not a small thing. The president (or CEO) for Bennett called me to go over the issue. At first I thought it was nice that someone in that position would take the time to address our concerns. Bad assumption. He proceeded to call my wife a liar and told me there was no way they could be wrong. I asked him how he would have known that as he was never in the room when this was set up. He said he just felt that no one in his office would have made such a mistake. We refused to close until we had written commitment that it would be changed. Though we got what we wanted it clearly affected their willingness to work with us after the sale. Net, net I would never recommend Benntt. I have been a member of Angieslist for 2-3 years and never put out a negative review. Bennett is my one and only.
