The project start date was set and each day was set and scheduled for specific actions by Kitchens Plus with Arnold's to do install of their three items near the end. All other work was done by Kitchens Plus. When the project start date came, Arnold's delivered the gas cooktop and the dishwasher---the hood was listed "ON. BACKORDER". In spite of having placed and paid Arnold's three months in advance, they never contacted us about them having any problem obtaining the hood. The remodel was to take eight working days and on the eight day when Arnold's was scheduled to install, they still had not delivered the hood and were blaming the delay on the hood manufacturer. Arnold's took a totally unappoligetic attitude for their delay and continued to blame the manufacturer of the hood. We had another four days without a kitchen and when the hood was installed the quality of the workmanship on the installation was very poor. Kitchens Plus was great and stepped up to make the installation acceptable.
There are only a few places to go in Bellevue when you want to order high-end appliances. We had tried a few of the others and didn't really feel comfortable working with them - either because they were too pushy or, just the reverse, not attentive enough. We decided to try Arnold's because my brother-in-law had had a good experience with them. Even though we didn't use the same salesperson, we were happy to meet Juan. We made about a half-dozen trips to Arnold's and each time he graciously spent up to two hours with us - showing us the different appliances and suggesting options, etc. He also offered to come in on his days off, just to meet our schedule. At the time, he had no idea as to how many appliances we were going to purchase or how much we wanted to spend. All along, he always reminded us that it was important for "us," not "him" to be comfortable with our decision. In the end, we purchased several appliances and were pleased with the process. Arnold's even made a few accommodations for us when we changed our mind on a few items. If you are in the market for new appliances, I would certainly ask for Juan when you visit Arnold's.
We went back to Arnold's Appliance a few times with questions about how the dishwasher was working and to take care of some apparent problems which the salesman explained and took care of. The salesman was friendly, courteous, and willing to spend time to help a customer with a new appliance.
We did quite a bit of comparison shopping and Arnold's price was the best. And when a competitor offered a lower price for one of the items, Arnold's willingly matched it. I ended up buying through Arnold's over the phone. That is, I never visited the store.
Before actual delivery, Arnold's was very responsive to my questions and they were flexible about the delivery date/time. The installer was professional and excellent. We did have one minor hiccup during installation but Arnold's helped with the resolution and made a second trip to finish the install once the issue was resolved. Les Crampton was the sales person I dealt with, but I also dealt with Jeremy who is one of the managers there. Both were responsive to my needs, and very professional and courteous.
I would definitely recommend this company and most certainly do business there again.
One other thing: Arnold's was honest. There was a GE rebate, but it applied only for purchases made after August 21. One of the competitors offered to fudge the paperwork, but Arnold's said that if I wanted the rebate I had to wait and purchase after August 21. I really appreciate this honesty and in fact this was the reason I would avoid the competitor that offered to falsify the paperwork (Metropolitan Appliance). Arnold's explained that if I didn't wait until the specified date, it could jeopardize the total rebate. They were right and I applaud their honesty.
The showroom experience was fantastic. The selection is immense, well displayed and above all else, I was supported in my purchase experience by the world's best appliance representative, Alan Alseth!
Alan went above and beyond the call of duty to offer the most competitive pricing available and when our initial refrigerator was defective upon installation, Alan provided expert guidance throughout the process to work with the manufacturer to ultimately get the loser unit replaced. it is obvious that Alan is a professional with 20+ years of experience and not the typical product ignorant, sales commission driven and service agreement selling used car salesman of the appliance world. I trust him!
Additionally, the installation professionals were quite respectful of our home.
If you are looking to purchase anything but a Sear's appliance, you must include Arnold's and Alan in your discovery process.
Arnolds' installation/delivery teams were prompt, professional, fast and friendly. They made two visits - one to uninstall and haul away our old dead fridge, and a second one to deliver/set up the new fridge. The installation team even went the extra mile and installed a new water valve (on the spot and at no charge) when they found that our old water valve was no longer fully functional.
We are extremely happy with our new fridge and with the outstanding service we received from Arnold's Appliance.
Since Arnold's was the only one that had one of these washers on display we went there first. The showroom was very nice, with lots of free parking. When we walked in, Les, who had replied to my email, asked, are you James? He was on the phone, but asked an associate to show us the machine. He was very knowledgeable about the features and quite personable. Then we asked if they price-matched. He said yes, but we would need to supply a quote from the other dealer. I showed them my hand-written notes, with the model number and prices, and they said that was good enough. Yay!
When we told Les about our old machine (a high-end model), he said that in good conscience he had to ask why we would replace such a nice unit. We had a lengthy conversation about detergent usage, water levels, mold, etc., and he was finally convinced that we had exhausted all possibilities without success, and understood why we wanted the new washer. It's not often one will find that level of concern and honesty in a sales person. He was willing to give up this sale if there was a chance we were just using the old machine incorrectly. Wow.
We finished the sale, with no drama, no trying to sell us anything additional, and set up a delivery two days later. The delivery and installation (included in the price) went very smoothly and professionally. We just finished our first load of laundry, and are very happy campers!
