We wanted one with a shorter cycle than come have.
The salesman we had knew EVERYTHING about each dishwasher they had, and discussed two that he recommended with us. Before we made our selection we felt we knew the pros and cons of the choices. This did not take us very long. The salesman did nothing to push us towards a dishwasher that was more costly or that had features we did not want.
We purchased the dishwasher and also paid for its installation. The date for installation was several weeks in the future but the salesman said they could call if an earlier appointment became available. It did --- only out about one week.
The dispatch group had called us about the availability of the earlier appointment which we accepted. A day before installation I called and was quickly handed over to the dispatch area and got a time estimate for the arrival (about a 2 hour window).
The delivery came exactly when scheduled. The installer placed pads and other protective material on our wood kitchen floor before removing and installing the new dishwasher. Because our home is old its floor and the kitchen counters are close to but not exactly level, which required a bit more work to install a dishwasher than doing it in a new home. The installer did this.

I spent over $20K at Albert Lee furnishing my new home (washer, dryer, range, vent hood, fridge, BBQ) however had the worst experience. The biggest factor was a faulty washer installation where the installer didn't tighten the hoses enough. So the first time I did the wash (first week living in the new home), a leak flooded the back of the laundry room, spread to an adjacent bedroom and also seeped into the ceiling underneath (laundry room on the 2nd floor). I needed to replace and repaint baseboards in the laundry and bedroom and the ceiling below.
There were also other issues:
- Washer wasn't delivered on time. I needed it to be delivered on time for a $250 rebate that required the serial numbers
- Dishwasher handle came scratched then was replaced with one that wasn't the same color as the original
- Vent hood lights weren't working. Took about 2 weeks to get a response on when it would be replaced
After all this I wasn't going to write a bad review. I'm very sensitive to writing bad reviews since I myself am a small business owner and know how it can affect business. I even was food poisoned at a high-end sushi restaurant once and didn't leave a bad review.
The breaking point came when Albert Lee wasn't willing to pay the full bill for my repairs after they had promised to do so. I asked my builder to do the repairs since there was no chance Albert Lee was going to work on my home again. The amount in question was $650, just a tiny amount of what I spent there. The builder whom refers business to Albert Lee was also appalled at this treatment.
Albert Lee has integrity and service competency issues, worst thing is that they don't care.
The showroom is great at Albert Lee. The sale representatives are generally knowledgeable and professional. Their prices are competitive. Everything went great with ordering.
However, we were slightly disappointed at delivery. The sale rep promised us to clean the refrigerator inside and out before delivering it to us at the showroom since it was a floor model. We are still seeing stains on the shelves and shelf liners. Also some of the styrofoam crumbs were left in the freezer compartment. It was a rainy day when they delivered. The crew does not have any towels to wipe down the appliances after they moved them in. When they attached the water hose they left some water puddle on the floor. Finally the washer was not tested because the installer found the child proof socket to be too stiff to plug in so he left it unplugged. I appreciate the fact that he does not want to damage the socket, but I expect them to have better knowledge about these things. Our builder just informed us the washer can be plugged in. The crew left the washer and dryer in the middle of laundry room and we still haven't been able to push the washer back into place and level them.
We emailed the sale rep that we expected better service from Albert Lee because of the good reputation of the company. He didn't respond to us until we pinged him another time. The response we got was defensive. We don't feel that he acknowledges the customer feedback and we don't see that he want to do anything to make us happy. We are now left with an unhappy feeling in this experience unfortunately. We may still go back to Albert Lee, but will definitely look for another sale rep to work with.
High marks also go to the installation and delivery teams. Albert Lee has a very established and well thought out process and series of controls to make sure everything goes right and the personnel we dealt with were great. We had some issues with the appliances not fitting correctly in the spaces designed, and they were very patient and helpful through each problem. Even though it wasn't their fault and they had to come out more than once to finish everything, there were no unexpected charges or issues. Also, we were very nervous about the refrigerator installation because we had just refinished every floor surface that had to be crossed to get the refrigerator in the kitchen. They were very professional and took great care to make sure there was absolutely no damage to any surface whatsoever. Thank goodness!
Initially we had a problem with our cooktop vent which unfortunately took a while to fix. They subcontract this to another service and apparently the part that was required was not in stock and took a while to arrive. However, once it arrived it was installed promptly and now works fine.
We are delighted with what was purchased and would highly recommend them to any who are in the appliance market. They work very well and have excellent pricing for people like us who were doing our whole kitchen with a remodeling contractor.
