Affordable Handywork

This gentleman does poor quality and overpriced work. He was recommended by our former management company at my condo and I paid him $200 last summer to repair my garbage disposal. I came home last week to a flood on my kitchen floor, because it was leaking. I asked him to come out and look at it. He told me no, he was too busy. I asked him again via text the next day, but he refused unless I guaranteed I would pay him additional money. I refused. I quality repairman would take pride and ownership in his work and this man only has excuses. Do not use him if you want good quality and timely work done. I have decided I would rather hire anyone else than give this man one more penny and hopefully the repair will be done right. I have advised my Home Owner's Association and we will no longer be using this vendor who in the past, we have given a lot of work to. Additionally, I found out he was hired by my former property manager to repair my garage door after a driver hit it, and even though the door frame was supposed to be all new, there was a gouge in the frame. He filed it in with paint. I complained over and over and all he did was fill it in with paint. So the new wood was not replaced. Also he salvaged my garage door. The paint job on the door was very sloppy and we refused to pay him until he made these fixes, plus he took over 2-3 months to fix the adjoining garage door claiming the door was on "back order". I found out he charged over $8K to repair both doors and my door was not even replaced but a salvage! I was not able to control this since this was through a Home Owners Management Company, but I would have withheld payment (and he charged far more than what would be considered acceptable) for the work that was done. Do NOT use this vendor if you value good,. quality work!
