Working with Randy was a great experience. He's a contractor that you can depend on to do what he says and meet his commitments. Bottom line, he is a contractor you can trust. During the bid process, he walked us through what to expect, gave recommendations, and made sure to answer all the questions we had. He started on the day he had committed to and his assistant (Doug) and him got to it right away. They were very respectful of our house and made sure to cleanup each day as we were living in the house during the flooring removal/installation. Randy made sure to take his time and walk us through decisions that came up and did things like getting grout samples to make sure we would be happy with the color we chose. They were easy to work with and the finished product is awesome. I would definitely hire Randy again for future projects.

Work by provider/contractor was good & cleaned up each night.

Had more concern with the professional quality of the sub-contractors: plumbing, electirical, and cabinetry as some of the members of those crews seemed to be short on experience and finishing could have been better. Shower door and glass work was very good.  Some of the cabinet work on the 4 cabinets could have been stained better.  Quartz counter-top glazing was not up to standard or professional quality.  One of the new electrical sockets was not put in straight.  A few times I had to loan the subcontractors some of my own personal equipment ---step ladder, chisels, blowers, etc. Painter was very good.

Contractor himself was good to work with, most of the concern was with some of the sub-contractors having people who were not quite up to high quality wood stain capability yet.  Cabinet design and function was good as was installation. I have quite a bit of house construction experience and know quality work as my father was a builder of high quality houses in the Midwest.

Overall I would give it a "B" to a "B+".

Randy arrived to survey the project within hours of my
initial call, had a bid to me later that evening. His estimate was within a few
dollars of the lowest bid. I chose Randy to do this project on the strength of
his 26 years experience coupled with his quick response.
Randy fitted the project into his busy schedule within a
week of our initial contact and had all the work completed within three days. He
is great to work with, works efficiently and carefully and is thorough. Over
the years I?ve undertaken three complete kitchen remodels involving a lot of backsplash
and floor tiling and his work is as good as it gets. I couldn?t be happier.

Randy was great.  I would hire him again in a heartbeat.  His price was good and the work was done in a timely manner.  There are a couple places were grout was not completely cleaned away and I had to scrape it from the surface of the tiles but it was barely noticeable.  The overall quality of work was very good.  He did this small job for me as a favor and managed to work it into his busy schedule.  I'd use him again anytime.

After being bumped to next month by another contractor (He had me on his calendar for over a month and bumped me via text message the day before the job was to begin.), I found Randy on Angie's list and saw that someone else had been bailed out by him in a similar situation. Randy came out the same day, got me a bid by that evening, and finished the job in a day and a half. He and Doug showed up promptly at 8 each morning and did a fantastic job installing tile backsplash around my granite countertops as well as replacing the tile on my island cooktop. The kitchen looks fresh and beautiful and I only wish more contractors had Randy's work ethic! I give him the highest recommendation!

Randy was an absolute life saver ! After having a bad experience with another provider, I finally gave up on them. I looked on Angie's list and found Randy Hall. He came to my rescue ! I was to have a total hip replacement on the last day of July. I was desperate to get the back splash done in the kitchen before my surgery. Randy was very busy with other jobs but did manage to slip my job in. He gave me a very good price and did an excellent job. I was so thankful for his kind understanding and he knew exactly what I needed to use for the back splash too. It turned out beautiful and I couldn't be happier with his expertise and professionalism. I definitely would use him again and highly recommend him.

After taking bids and references, I went with this company as friends had hired them in the past.  When friends walk away from large remodels and small jobs happy, then you know they're a good company to hire.
I was impressed by their professionalism from the beginning.  The job supervisor was always willing to explain what they were doing and why.  Putting wrap stuff around the hole in the wall where the window is going to be? I didn't know the reasons WHY they did it, so I asked.  It's lucky I wasn't paying them by the question! They always were willing to give me all the information I needed. No question was treated as 'dumb' or 'unnecessary'.  They taught me so much about why it should be done the way it was. Often I would check it out online and they were doing the work exactly as the siding and window companies recommended. This made me feel all the better about hiring them and trusting in their knowledge and skill.
The job started out as only window and siding replacements. The siding is the concrete Hardy Plank siding, but first they had to remove the old (1959) siding.  The windows replaced were the old single pane aluminum.   They even brought a chain saw one day to assist me in removing some bushes that were in their way and I no longer wanted. They would have gladly worked around them, but I saw the opportunity to remove unwanted bushes.
They also removed the old window sills and replaced them with new mahogany to match the rest of the mahogany woodwork in the house. They custom stained the wood to match existing woodwork too.  You cannot tell the difference between the new and old woodwork.
They even came and talked to me about the roof vents and the ones in the ceiling above the porches and deck.  They advised that I did not have the recommended airflow in the attic.  So they fixed them.  Oh yes, they also assisted me with replacing the screen in the vents under the house, as a few of them had cracked over the last 50 + years.  Those have remained completely solid and were well done.
I was so impressed with the quality of their work, plus how easy they were to have around, that I expanded the job to include adding additional insulation in the attic, and fixing the crawl space under the house.  Back in the 90's when the sewer had been put in, whoever did the work did not remove the dirt dug up.  It was piled near the footings and could have caused problems. The vapor barrier had also not been replaced under the master bedroom.  I needed the dirt removed, everything smoothed out, new vapor barrier put down, plus insulation on the pipes and rehanging insulation that was hanging from below the floor joists.
While this part of the job was being done I left it to someone else to supervise and went on vacation.  THAT's how comfortable I was with this crew! They were GREAT!  In fact, they worked really well with the electrician I'd hired to rewire the whole house. (I decided to go ahead and replace lighting with all the other work going on.  The electrician doing the install pulled out a handful of blackened wires above the kitchen. Time to rewire for safety!)
Then I expanded the job to include remodeling my family room, which is a converted two-car garage. It had been converted back in the 70's and was always REALLY cold.  I'm on the east side of Portland and get the Gorge winds hitting my house head on., as my house faces east.  I could feel a breeze in my house, which was the reason for new siding, windows and insulation.
Imagine my surprise when the Supervisor told me they'd found a 4" gap left in the wall and covered up with bricks outside.  As the bricks aged and the mortar cracked, air was freely coming in. No wonder I was cold!
They took all the old paneling and insulation out, then brought the old garage door wall from 2x4's to 2x6 to match the other walls. Then they put in new thick insulation (advising me on what would best work in the space) hung new drywall, enlarged the closet from 3' to 5', hung new closet doors, new moulding at the ceiling and base of the walls.
Part of this job was to remove an existing outside door that originally had been the side door out of the garage. I felt this was a door that was a security problem, so I had it removed.  I also had them replace my laundry room outside door with a heavy duty door.
Now I had a lovely new family room and had pulled up the carpet before they started taking out the old drywall.  I now decided I didn't want to replace it with carpet, as it was a concrete floor (garage) and was slightly slanted down.  They leveled the floor and installed cork, but in the form of snap together planks (like the laminate floors, but cork that can be refinished and has a 10 year warranty).  I'm REALLY happy with the floor and have had not ONE problem.
They even assisted me with replacing all the door hardware in the house. Oh, and they installed the TV mount on the wall. It's one of those large brackets where you can move the TV (50") up and down, in and out, plus rotate from side to side. The installation had to be done really well so the TV would be stable.  I tell you, these guys were ever so helpful and accommodating! (Of course, I did pay them for the additional work but never felt cheated.)   I was actually sad to see them go.  Months later I had them back to rebuild and enlarge my shed.  Next I want to remodel the kitchen and dining room, and I'll hire them.  No need for getting other bids.  They were worth every penny!
Part of my enthusiasm for them is how responsive they were when the laundry room door shifted and I could see a bit of daylight (that darn wind really hammers the house sometimes).  They came back out on a weekend to fix it for me, and then reminded me again to call them if I had any more problems.
Another thing was the quality of the paperwork at our final accounting.  Everything was professionally done and put together in a way that I could file it all. Even the warranty information was there all nice and neat.  The final accounting was exact and well done.  There were NO bad surprises, which is a big deal all by itself.  I hate nasty surprises, and they were fabulous about talking to me as the work went along, or when they found something unexpected.
I've enthusiastically recommended them to others, and some friends are planning to hire them for their home remodel this upcoming year, as they were impressed with the quality of work done at my home.  Even my boyfriend hired them to assist him on a few things he wasn't sure how to do in his own home remodel.

Randy came out and bid on the labor and setting material and tear out and disposable for our porcelain tile floor and he also told us the cost of the tile.  We liked his experience and that he was actually the person doing the work (this is not the case with many other tile contractors).   We were not in a rush, and once he could fit us in his schedule, he started the job as promised.  He and his helper arrived on the date and time promised.   They tore out the old floor, disposed of that material, and installed the new tile floor.
Pros:  The quality of the tile installation was very good except for an area where the pattern was reversed (luckily it is not very noticeable and so we told him to just leave it).   Randy was timely, a hard worker, and the tile is level and looks great.
Cons:  We bought the grout ($271) that we thought was included in the bid.  After Randy left we noticed that the transition to the carpet and to a vinyl floor were left unfinished (with our other tile work, the transitions were finished).

Randy and I agreed on a meeting time to discuss the project. He arrived at the agreed date and time on the dot. He and his helper always arrived early and put in a hard days work. Randy placed tarps in all their traffic areas. They cleaned up the days mess prior to leaving for the day. I explained to Randy what I wanted done and he did what I asked. Randy paid a lot of attention to detail. Everything fit correctly and the finished job was just as I wanted.  Randy finished the job within a day or so of his quoted time. I liked Randy's work so well that I had him come back and tile my guest bathroom. I highly recommend RH Company to anyone that needs quality tile work.

Asked for a bid on fireplace updating and got an immediate response with a quote within a week. Ryan gave us a fair bid and scheduled our project in a timely manner, considering his full schedule. Work was completed as quoted with beautiful results. Ryan had to custom build our mantle as we have one of those l -shaped , 2 sided fireplaces. I am very pleased with the end result and would definitely use RH Company, Inc. again.

It went exceedingly well. Randy met us at the tile store and helped us through the selection process.  He was amenable to our design changes and made useful suggestions regarding our purchase of materials at better prices (e.g., glass block insert in the walk in shower).    He has a good head for design and we found his suggestions quite useful.

Randy was uniformly on-time and on-budget, and the work turned out great. The one flaw that we discovered (gap in grouting) was fixed within hours at no cost or hassle.

He came on his lunchbreak to help me.  I had enough back up tile to try to use, but he advised that it wouldn’t look right, so he gave us a new sketches and used a process to age the grout and tile, so they match the existing tile.  He came back bright and early the next morning with a wet saw to do the tile work for me with his partner, and then he came back the following lunchbreak to finish the work and to make sure the tilework was set.  He then called the plumber, so he could complete his work.  I’ve already hired him to do another showerstall project for us. I enjoyed working with him so much that I want to give him more business.
