Very pleasant company with excellent customer service. We highly recommend this reliable company and, if there is a need, will definitely use them again.
The provider provided an estimate of $250 to remove three 18 inch tree stumps.
We agreed on the date and time and he arrived exactly on time. He unloaded his machine and started work. He used a chain saw to trim the stumps close to the ground. He used a stump grinder to grind the stumps and roots in an area about five by fifteen feet, deep enough to for me to bury a 4 in gutter drain with room to spare. It took him about two hours to complete the work, thouroughly clean the area, reload his equipment and provide a computer generate statement. He was freindly and efficient.Having noted our gray hair he suprised us with a senior discount.
On anything that really matters to us that we want done right, we save up and spend the extra money.
Bryce came when scheduled to do his estimate, and the crew showed up when promised. Scheduling was smooth with their office staff readily available by phone (instead of being asked to contact via email, which is a major irritation to me from some companies)
This job was actually a little trickier than some, because our beloved cherry tree had split in three sections, with one trunk in our yard, and the other overlapping two neighbor's yards. The portion still standing had a large limb extending over a neighbor's storage shed, so it needed special handling.
Several hours later, it was done, and there was a lot of cherry wood on the ground. All the branches and brush were sent through their chipper as they worked, so this kept things clean. One neighbor wanted to keep the wood that fell on his side, and that was to have been moved over to his property. I wanted to keep a portion for myself, and specified where it was to be stacked.
My only disappointment in this job is that the crew just left after they finished, without checking with me (even though we had spoken earlier about what to do, and they knew I was home). So I didn't get to inspect while they were still there, and discovered that they hadn't moved the wood as specified, and that it was mostly left on top of a damaged portion of fence that I needed access to for repair after the tree was cleared.
A phone call brought a quick response however, and the crew returned, moved the wood, and cut up some larger pieces that should have been done before as well. Cleanup was very good, except for an assortment of fir needles, cones, and sawdust that were blown onto the lawn when they used their leaf blower to clean the driveway. I had to rake and clean this up myself later.
The callback was a flaw in an otherwise great job, but I still give Thundering Oak top marks. They should have crews check in with clients (if available) for a final inspection on jobs, however.
