The technician was supposed to put plastic down underneath the couch and never did. The carpet, which was NOT part of the service, was totally saturated when he left and stayed in the carpet, padding and on the sub-flooring for 10 hours. (I was at work) I spent 30 minutes after work suctioning up the excess solution with my carpet cleaning machine! This was a disaster! This particular franchise will NOT respond to complaints and all calls go to headquarters in Ohio. Paul Carson, Customer Relations Manager, Stanley Steemer International, refuses to refund any money and offered a $50 gift card to Stanley Steemer or to let them come back and clean our carpet! I will not allow them in our home again. FYI: Nineteen of 28 reviews on Yelp are 1 star and the BBB has MANY 1 star reviews. Save your money and hire one of the other reputable companies on Angie's List.

Not very well. Received estimate of original job request prior to arrival of technician. Carpets were cleaned fine. Tile in kitchen was cleaned alright, but we found dirt all around the outside of the tile space as if the technician had simply pushed it to the edges rather than clean and remove it. Service provider walked through the house with me asking again what rooms we wanted done. I asked him to clean the entryway and a very small (4'x6') hallway that connected the kitchen/bathroom/bedroom. We were charged between $40 and $60 for some very small spaces that I did not think qualified as rooms on their own. Asked if we wanted him to clean the shower stalls; we said sure. He did not explain that they would each cost $75. They were more clean than before, but not $75-clean. We ended up paying $300 more than the original estimate. Managers at Stanley Steemer sent a "service call" after I complained about the cost. They determined that the small rooms are judgement calls and that they could probably refund part of that cost. I was not satisfied, stating that I would want those rooms plus the shower stalls taken off because I would not have added those rooms at the associated cost had I known what the cost was prior to service being done. The original service provider hadn't told us the total before he started. After calling a couple other managers, I eventually got back the money that I thought we deserved to be refunded. Overall, the cost and hassle was not worth it.

We weren't real crazy about it. Because it was so wet, it took forever to dry. The method they used, we just didn't like it because it was so wet. We had to stay out for a long time before we could use it. They cracked a couple of jokes. It took a long time for us to be able to use it again. If they used a method with less moisture on it, you could get on it right away.

They had one of those specials going on. They would do two rooms and you get one free or something like that. It was $225 for three rooms and a hallway or something like that. My carpet was clean and smelled good. I have lots of animals. I would not use them in future because I can get it cheaper.

They were here April 10th of 2016.  It cost $99.  There were no additional cost.  They're just kind of average.  They do move the furniture which is good.

They arrive on time and do the work without any fuss. Very professional. And the results are great! My rugs always look really nice afterwards. I've used them in Olympia three times this year, and the rugs always look great.

I was very satisfied with the service. They got out some tough stains.

Arrived on time and very polite. Both technicians were very professional. Arrival time was near 8am and they were done just before 10am.
They asked about concerns - i noted the very dirty and stained stairs and spots in one room (child's room) and paint stains in the living room - which are red. They warned me that the red colored and similar stains may not come out. Unfortunately, there were several stains that did not come out.
For example, I used the spot bot a couple of months ago to clean a section on the stair landing. It created two clean circles - those two circles are still there and the carpet around them is lighter. I suppose that the cleaning agents in the spot bot were more effective than what SS uses. I'm going to guess that whatever cleaner and pre-treatment they use is only effective on certain types of dirt and some of my stains did not respond.
Overall, the carpets are cleaner and I'm glad that I got it done. I just will look for other companies in the future, because I don't feel like I should go behind the professional to handle spot removals of regular dirt. I am fine with trying to figure out how to remove the red or carpet staining types of issues.

Staff was prompt and knowledgeable. They did what they said they would and I’m happy with their service.

I though they did a very good job. I have a plan with them where they come out 4 times a year. I only had a problem with them one time and it was a crew from another area. Every other time has been great and they will even move the furniture for you.

Their prices were good. They were also professional and efficient.
