I watch the DIYNETWORK all the time. They have shows that prove that a complete bathroom can be torn down and rebuilt in three (3) days - if you are organized and will not cheat people. Its right on the TV as we speak and it gives multiple examples of bathrooms and kitchens more "creative" than mine which they build right on site. Check it out!!!!! They also have proven with actual shows that the same is true for a kitchens and other rooms in your house. They even transfer back yards into oasises in three (3) days. I HAVE PICTURES OF WHERE IT WAS STOPPED AFTER I FIRED THIS INCOMPETENT CONTRACTOR AND CREW, while I have taken my time and completed some of the work my self by watching the DIY NETWORK and reading books. I still will have to have a professional person redo and finish my projects. Mr. Case called a lawyer and placed a lien on my home. I am just finding out about this when I was checking my fico score. I do not even remember siging anything that proves I was not given time to have a rebuttle against being being sued in small claims court. A LIEN STAYS ON YOUR RECORD FOR TEN (10) YEARS. MR. CASE YOU WILL NEVER SEE A PENNY OF THAT MONEY, i HAVE MORE CREDIT THEN YOU CAN REMOTELY IMAGINE. SO THIS WILL NOT HURT ME. HOWEVER, I WANT YOU TO READ ON BECAUSE I AM GOING TO REPORT YOUR LOUSEY WORK AND DEFRAUDING THE FEDERAL AND STATES AGENCIES OF THIS INCIDENT. I BELIEVE YOU ARE DISHONEST AND PEOPLE SHOULD KNOW ABOUT THIS TYPE OF BEHAVIOR. IT ALWAYS APPEARS THAT THE CONSTRACTOR CAN PLACE LIEN AFTER LEIN ON HOME OWERS AND NOTHING IS DONE ABOUT IT. I AM GOING TO ASK HOW TO REPORT YOU FIRST TO THE IRS AND WASHINGTON STATE FRAUD DEVISIONS AND LET ME TELL ME WHAT EVIDENCE DO I NEED TO GIVE THEM OTHER THEN THE FRONT AND BACK OF THE CHECKS I WROTE TO YOU AND YOU WOULD GO FLYING OUT OF MY HOME TO CASH THEM IN YOUR PERONSAL NAME. ********I must mention that he paid his men under the table. Every time I gave him a check, he would rush to the bank and case it. I personally saw him pay his check worker Steve twice in this manner when he returned from my bank. I believe this is illegal. I am also ignorant that I did not have a contract with this man, but this mostly because he was listed on ANGIES LIST and he had references. I will call these people and let them know once I here from the the IRS/WASHINGTON STATE. This means that he probably has not reported this money that I paid im by check in his name and NOT his company name. I did not know this was illegle until recently. Thus his company and personal taxes if filed are probably frautulent. His QUARTERLY 941's are probably fraudulent. He has not paid the the proper WASHINGTON STATE TAX TAX AND EXCISE TACE DUE FOR THIS TYPE OF BUSINESS. This futher means he may not have filed the proper unemployment taxes, excise taxes, and L & I premiums due for at least the tax year 2011. This further means that all his crew have not been paying filing theproper taxes due. This is here say, but I believe, Mr. Case has owed back taxes to the state of Washington before. If all this be true above and I had known to present my case before the judge, I am sure the court would have taken into account what I have presented above. The character and integrity of this individual and crew must be questioned. If you are not telling the truth about one aspect of the case, how can the court believe thtat I am at fault. Even though this home will never be sold, I want every one to know to always have a contract with the contractor. Contractors alsways have the law on their side. Yes the inspectors can come out and inspect so much. However, if you watch again the HOLMES ON HOLMES show on the DIY NETWORK, Mr. Homes clearly states - do your due dillignece before hiring a contractor. I did as much as I could as I found this construction company listed on ANGIES LIST. I was given references (I will inform them soon) by Mr. Case and they stated his work would be fine. I am going to contact the fraud/tax evasions of the IRS and WASHINGTON STATE BOARD OF TAXES AND FINANES DEPARTMENT, to ask them what do they need from my as evidence to investigate this company. I hope this information proves useful to other people. Watch the DIY NETWORK. SEE FOR YOURSELVES HOW CONTRACTORS PERFORM SHORTY WORK AND IF YOU DON'T PAY THEM, THEM STILL HAVE SOME OF YOUR MONEY AND THEN THEY PLACE A LIEN ON YOUR PROPERTY. THEN YOU HAVE TO PAY SOME ONE ELSE TO DO THE WORK CORRECT THE SECOND OR POSSIBLY THE THIRD TIME.
Description of Work: Mr. Case was to enclose a crawl space in which one half of the floor already existed. This space was for a wine cellar ( Mr. Case had to follow my directions as a wine cellar is insulated differerently from an ordinary room). Mr. Case was to complete a 3/4 quarter bathroom also in an existing crawl space. He did not finish either job. I have pictures of the entire renovation as proof. I also have personal checks written to John Case and not to SEAGREEN CONTRACTION. Keep this in mind. I wrote personal checks to Mr. Case, not knowing that they should have been written to SEAREEN CONTRACTION. I kept telling Mr. Case the installing on the floor of the wine cellar was not correct and showed him what he should use. He kept putting it off. I am just getting back into completing this project and this is why this report is so late. In approxiapately eleven (11) months of his work with as many asf four (4) men, the door to the linen closet has not be placed in position because there is no door. The tiling of the shower was never finished. OVIOUSLY NO GROUTING WAS EVER DONE BY MR. CASE OR HIS CREW. The lights in the bath room were not placed properly. The door between the old storage room and new smaller storage room was never plastered and plastered with sheet work. Many other things were not completed. I was not happy with his work and when he came the last day in December, 2011, ( I cane get that date), I confronted him. I clearly stated that it does NOT take and should not take ten to eleven (10-11) months to finish this job. I stated to him that he will finish all the work that we had disclussed and this would be his last day on the job. I also told him and confronted him that deep in my "gut" that Mr. Case was just milking me for more and more money. All men were looking busy the times I would check on their work actually doing little or nothing during all this time. He worked until midnite LAST DAY ONLY. On ALL other days he would arrive with at least three (3) men and some times a man named ALVAN, I believe who he states is a helper. He would send him to that truck MULTIPLE times during the couse of he date. THE DAYS ALAN WAS NOT AVAILABLE THEY BROUGHT ALL THEIR EQUIPTMENT DOWN THEMSELVES - THUS THIS WAS ANOTHER WAY TO WASTE TIME AND CHARGE ME MORE MONEY. They all would take nearly an hour for lunch, use my grest rest once and didn't even fluch the toilet. Mr. Case wanted to get as much done as he could that last day because he knew he had been fired. It was agreed that he would work on my project on Fridays/Saturdays and not be off it there was a "game" at the stadium in time. He even charged me for two of hie men being out here when an indipendent plumber company was here. I stated that that theywould know what to do, but he still had them out here and charged me for them. They did NOt contribulte at all to helping the plumbers. A lot of the time he would be away from my job taking care of other types of business which I am not aware of at the present time. He knew on that that day that at the end of the time they would spend attempting to finish the work that all of them would be fired. I did NOT pay them for that day because I felt that all the times they had wasted they had already been paid. I will say that again - they had already been paid for this last day because it does not take monoths and months to build a wine cellar (no racks included). Mr. Case wanted another $3000 for one days work and I refused to pay it. He knew it was his last day and and wanted to prove he had been working all this time. If Mr. Case had put in the time he placed on the lst day I permitted hime on this job, I am sure this job would have been done in three (3) months or less. I fired him and his crew. They collected all their equipment in the dead of the winter when it was raining and it served them right. I have pictures to prove the course of their work and was constantly asking why are you taking so long and doing so little each day you come to my home to work? That day they did the most work they had ever done since being on the job. They even asked if I would turn on the TV to watch a game. Such unprofessionalism.

It went well, overall. It took a little longer than anticipated, but overall, it was good. The quality of the work seems to be good. They were willing to work with us. It was within my budget.
Description of Work: They built a new deck for me.
