My truck erratically would not start.  Everything was checked without finding cause.  They even kept it over night to check when cold, etc. to no avail.  I was disappointed that the problem was not solved but impressed that they did not charge me despite expending a lot of time.

I had a service appointment and Scarf Motors took my car right in. They did the oil change and documented other service needs for my review and decision. The work was done in a timely manner. The price was typical for a dealership yet still reasonable. We have been using their services for over 15 years and are very happy with their customer service and work.

Dropped the truck off for my morning appointment, and since I never was called back about the plugs, wires, cap and rotor, I asked for a price. I was told right away, in a condescending tone, that it didn't have a distributor. 'Scuse me??! I have been working on fords since 1975, and I know what a distributor is, and this truck has one! So, with a dis-believing tone, the service guy sends a tech out to the truck with me to look. The tech starts right away with a hard sell for cleaning the fuel injection system. I told him no, lets start with the cap, rotor, wires and plugs first. When I asked if they had the best quality parts, the tech said they would have to go aftermarket for the good stuff. I told him to forget it, I can change the parts myself.
So comes time for me to get it back from them, and I walk in to ask what they found out about the CC, brakes and bearings. I was told that the CC didn't work, (REALLY?? Tell me something I DON'T ALREADY know) and there was nothing available to fix it. No tools, parts or manuals. This CC is a Ford system, sold and installed by the Ford dealer. What the heck is this??! A FORD DEALER THAT CAN'T FIX A FORD???!!! WHAT'S NEXT??? Well, I was about to find out.
They completely forgot about the bearing check. As I was driving home it was still making a noise when braking, so I took it to a tire shop to have them look. They recommended that the front wheel bearings and brake fluid be replaced. That's a BIG miss for Scarff Ford. Then I bought a set of wires, plugs, cap and rotor from Autozone, and took it home to replace them. In the rain, because I have no shop anymore, or even a concrete place to work on. Halfway through the job of changing the parts, I see the left side of the engine is soaked in oil. Dripping off the bottom of the engine. Typical Ford inline 6 side cover leak. Right in the middle of this oil leak is the new oil filter. The tech HAD to see the oil leak when he changed the filter. I check the lube job report from Scarff, and it indicates there are NO leaks. This leaves me wondering what else they missed.
By now I am so frustrated with these guys at Auburn Scarff Ford, I take it to the Kent Ford dealer only to get the same story on the CC. Why is Ford making a habit of not servicing their products? It's not like I'm asking them to work on an obscure Ford from the 1930s; on the contrary, the F-150 is the BEST SELLING VEHICLE EVER. Mine is a modern truck, with fuel injection, ABS, AC, and other modern options.
What REALLY blows me away is this; all the minor repairs this truck needs would have made Scarff Fords service department a pretty penny. If I had been treated right, and they had capable techs,  I would have had them do the work. Would have cost me about 600-800 bucks, but I would be willing to pay it. AM willing to pay it, but now, it's an independent auto shop that's getting my business. I'll NEVER go back to them for service, and I recommend you take your business elsewhere. If I were in charge of the service department and this happened to a customer, heads would roll! Then I would BUST MY A** to make the customer happy and want to return. Guess they just don't care.

It was a pressure buy. They don't stand behind their products. They sold us a vehicle that had been turned over many times. I had asked questions and they ignored me.

I use them all the time. I have been very happy with them and think that they are very professional. They have always done excellent work for me and I would not go anywhere else for car service. I think that the quality of their work is excellent.

Car runs very good now, but this just seems like an incredibly expensive repair. Plugs and wires were $240 and labor was over $300.

MY EXPERIENCE WAS GOOD. AT FIRST IT WAS BAD BECAUSE I WAS NOT TOLD OF THE COST BEFORE THEY PERFORMED THE WORK. I THOUGHT IT WAS ALL WARRANTY WORK. THEN I WAS TOLD I MUST PAY 100.00 BEFORE I COULD TAKE MY CAR. I PAID AND THEN I CALLED THE OWNER WHEN I GOT HOME. THE OWNER CALLED ME BACK AND APOLOGIZED FOR THE MISUNDERSTANDING AND REFUNDED MY MONEY.

ALWAYS HAVE DONE A GOOD JOB PERFORMING WORK ON TIME AND AT ESTIMATE. NECESSARY TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT TIME THOUGH VS 'QUICK LUBE' SERVICE. THEY DO OFFER FREE SHUTTLE SERVICE WHEN NEC. USUALLY DIRTY FOOTPRINT STAINS ON THRESHOLD OF DOOR JAMB WHICH I FIND UNACCEPTABLE.

I'M ALWAYS HAPPY WITH THE SERVICE HERE. THEY HAVE EXTENDED HOURS, MAKING IT CONVENIENT FOR BOTH DROP OFF AND PICK UP OF YOUR VEHICLE. THE SERVICE MANAGERS BEHAVE PROFESSIONALLY AND EXPLAIN PROCEDURES THOROUGHLY. THE TECHNICIANS ONLY PERFORM WORK THAT IS REALLY NEEDED. THIS VISIT ENDED UP COSTING SEVERAL HUNDRED DOLLARS LESS THAN I THOUGHT IT MIGHT. THEY EVEN GAVE ME A DISCOUNT THAT I DIDN'T EXPECT (BUT REALLY APPRECIATED).

THE TECHNICIANS WERE INFORMATIVE AND NOT PUSHY. THEY TRIED TO SPEAK IN LAY TERMS TO ME ABOUT THE PROBLEM AND GAVE ADVICE THAT WAS HELPFUL. SERVICE WAS PROMPT; THEY HAVE CONVENIENT EXTENDED HOURS.

AFTER THOROUGHLY RESEARCHING EXTENDED WARRANTIES THROUGH SEVERAL DIFFERENT COMPANIES, WE FOUND THIS ONE TO BE THE BEST WARRANTY WITH THE BEST PRICE. INITIALLY THE PROCESS WAS PAINLESS. HOWEVER, ONCE WE RECEIVED THE FINAL PAPER WORK WE REALIZED THEY SHOWED US AS HAVING A $50 DEDUCTIBLE WHEN WE HAD ACTUALLY PAID EXTRA FOR A ZERO DEDUCTIBLE. TRYING TO GET THAT STRAIGHTENED OUT TOOK A COUPLE OF MONTHS AND MANY FRUSTRATING PHONE CALLS. NOT TO MENTION THAT WHEN WE TOOK THE VEHICLE IN FOR SERVICE DURING THAT 'STRAIGHTENING OUT' PERIOD, WE HAD TO ARGUE WITH THEM ABOUT OUR DEDUCTIBLE. IT EVENTUALLY GOT STRAIGHTENED OUT.
