Rhian installed our furnace 7 years ago, and City permit inspector said it was one of the cleanest and most complete installs he'd seen. Today's service included a bunch of questions from me planning ahead down the line for heat pumps and he shared tons of education about future Washington trends, how to best site the equipment, and evaluated our power panel. He made sure I was aware of all code and best practices - even if we didn't go with them. Even small details like talking about routing the water discharge where it wouldn't stain our patio. He didn't do a formal quote as we hadn't requested it, but his guess ballpark for a heat pump was about the same as another company quoted several years ago. (We won't hold him to it, we just wanted a range to start planning ahead.) He also verified around the house for gas leaks and carbon monoxide, including checking fittings on equipment they hadn't even installed.

They answered all our questions, explained trade-offs with zero attempt to upsell, and did an awesome job on the install. The install team was top-notch - I wish they did all sorts of other services. Some examples about the install team: They replaced venting from my water heater that joined into the shared stack for the furnace to make it consistent. Moved the electrical switch for the furnace that was in an unsafe spot relative to the water heater (it was a surface mount box, not a big deal, but still a good deed.) While setting up the thermostat, they discovered it didn't have a control wire for the blower - so they went up into the attic and pulled a new line. All of this extra work was included within the original bid just to get the job done right. City mechanical permit inspection took a quick look and made favorable comments about "well done." The install team was very detailed in explaining the operation and thermostat, and they swept the garage three (!) times to make sure there were no dropped screws or other debris left behind. It's another little thing, but I'm really happy with the way they installed the filter. It's super easy to change, and a dramatic improvement on the ridiculously awkward set up we had before. The only thing I penalize them for is that they didn't seem to plan on pulling the required city permit. I had to press that issue, and handle the pressure test and meeting the inspector myself. I suspect other homeowners would probably penalize them if they did automatically pull permits due to the extra effort and expense, so they're probably in a no-win situation. But best to err on the side of compliance. To be fair, we were a bit of a travel for them and not their usual area - but I suspect their area also requires same.

Northwest Comfort Systems told us the installation would take at least one full day, and maybe a few hours on a second day. They had 3 technicians that worked all day long trying to get everything done. They did a beautiful job on all the electrical work and special ducting they had to do to get everything to fit in the small space they had to work with in our garage. Even though the weather wasn't very hot the day of the installation, Mike insisted on working past midnight so that when they left the air condtioner would be working. They went way beyond our expectations. The next day Mike came back and spent about 2 hours with us teaching us everything about the furnace, air conditioner and thermostat. The thermostat is like a little computer, so there was lots of things to learn. Mike was very thorough and made sure we understood and didn't have any questions before he went on to the next thing he wanted to show us. When Mike left we were confident that we understood everything about our new system. The air conditioning is wonderful - it's so nice to have a cool house at night when you're trying to sleep. We would recomment Northwest Comfort Systems to anyone!

Because of the nature of the job, this was basically an all day's work. Well worth it! The people showed up at about 10am and quickly got to work in removing and installing the new furnace and water heater. After it was all completed they again walked through eveything with me and showed me how to change the filters, how to flush the water heater and programmed the new touch screen thermostat for me. I have recommended this company to several friends including my realtor. This company is AWESOME and the pricing is right too!

Company responded to calls and set appointments etc all within normal business practices.

Technician arrived, I described the problem of no heat but fan and all others functions work fine. He went to furnace turned in on and it worked, we tried it a few more times and the problem didn't continue. he left with no charge for the trip. Within the next week the furnace stopped working again, I called they responded and diagnosed the problem as a faulty control board. Cost roughly $500. I checked internet and found the replacement kit from several vendors for $250-350. I called and asked if they would install a kit I purchased and I was told that was not something they would do. Then after they quoted me the cost of roughly $500 for the repair I agreed. They ordered part, came and installed a few days later. Gave me a bill that included a service/trip fee. That was never mentioned when I was told the total cost. Repair was made, I paid the additional charge and I thought that was it. Within 24 hours the furnace stopped working just as it had done previously. I called and they came back out, this time they diagnosed a vaulty Gas valve. I asked if they kept the control panel they just replace and I was told no they do not have it. I said so the problem wasn't the control panel but a gas valve. Here is what is really interesting...the tech told me that a faulty gas valve COULD cause the control panel to go bad....Now I do not believe that but he was rather insistent. Now at this point I agreed to have in order the gas valve $400 Plus to repair and install. I wish there was a company out there that would take a situation like this and tell the customer that they miss diagnosed the problem, and although they cannot give credit for the control panel they would credit me the labor for the install for the control panel and the gas valve. Now that would be refreshing company to deal with. The way this one was handled ended any further relationship with this customer. Really, a faulty gas valve can make a control panel malfunction.......come one now.

"We appreciate your feedback of our service and sorry that you feel our technician did not do his best to diagnose your furnace issues for your 2 stage horizontal Trane furnace in the attic and that you feel our pricing (which included labor) was not to your satisfactory. Please feel free to call us at 888-998-4328 if we can further assist you. Thank you for your business."

We awoke to find our furnance wasn't working. Via Angie's List, we found NW Comfort Systems. We were very impressed and appreciative that a representative of the company came to our home the same day as our Help Call. Although my husband thought our 35-year-old furnance could be "repaired", NWCS declared the furnance was a dead duck, and a replacement was needed. After determining our needs, NWCS placed an order for a new furnace. We were told the new furnance and installation team would be at our home the next day. Over the years I've talked to family, friends, and neighbors who have told me that delivery and installation of a new furnance during the winter months took 2+ days. So I was a bit sceptical of the NWCS stated timeline. But, they were true to their word! The following afternoon, a team of two workers appeared with a new furnace. The installers were quick, friendly, and efficient in their installation of the furnace and thermostat. They gave us much information about how this new furnace works, as well as the thermostat functions. When the outside temperature is 36 degrees, there's a strong motivation to get a heat source back into a house as soon as possible. NWCS got us back on the heat track very quickly; at a reasonable price; and very helpful, efficient, and friendly servicemen!

No heat coming out of our furnance. Larry arrived ontime and quickly determined the problem was not with the furnace but with the thermostat. He replaced it with a much better one, performed basic maintenance on the furnace and was out within 30 minutes. Very resonable price, too.

Larry was recommended by a family member. I first used this company 2 or 3 years ago. I had some problems with the furnace in my home. I have a very complicated system with 2 furnaces. Larry did an excellent job and I was happy to call him when we needed a furnace installed. Larry’s bid was very competitive and since I had good experience working with him, I was very comfortable that we would get the same quality service. Larry and Mike were working in a 75 year old building that had been remolded many times, by many different people and really was quite a mess. They installed all new ducting and a new furnace. The work was completed on time and for the amount originally quoted in the bid. They arrived on time, their appearance was very professional, and they cleaned up the job site nightly. We are very pleased with their work and will continue to use and recommend them. I also recommended Larry to a friend, and he installed air conditioning in her home. She recommended him to three other friends who also had them install air conditioning. Quality work, good service and the jobs were completed on time.

The Heat Pump and furnace were not coming on as they were supposed to. We hd another company come out and they changed the thermosat for $750 and were saying we also needed a new compressor... $1200 plus labor more. We got a second opinion from the NWCS people and they found that the switch for the while house fan was faulty and replaced it. We got our old thermostat back and everyhting works as it should.
