Pete Minten has worked for me before and done excellent work, and this time was no exception. Pete has always been easy to work with and knows his job well. He has been doing this job his whole career and is always willing to accommodate special requests and adjusts to your schedule well. BTW, Dan is no longer with Hand M and Pete is the owner. His expertise with replacing windows without cutting siding to put in builder windows instead of remodel windows saved the exterior look of the house and those wood borders around the windows you so often see. His expertise with trim work is great - the baseboards and casing around doors/pantry/closet show good workmanship with the joints and a true eye for making things look good. His drywall skills are way beyond mine and he has a knack for making the repairs to any drywall disappear and blend with the surrounding texture. His expertise also showed when installing the fans in the laundry and bath off the family room. They both function well with no intrusion into the crowded overhead space between floors. He also kept me informed of any decisions or schedule changes he needed help on or when he wasn't going to be working that day. He also worked a couple weekends late into the night since the house was unoccupied at the time and he had free reign, which shows he was interested in making good use of the time to get the job done. His cost to do this job was about $5000 less than another bid I received for the same work, and that company uses contractors to do the work for the most part. His price is fair and reasonable and I believe we both got what we wanted. He sticks to his estimate unless there is a major cost upper and then informs you when there are issues and will work with you to make you happy. That, in my opinion, is what makes a great contractor.

It went very smoothly. Dan and Pete do good work, and are honest and fair priced. They go over everything and make sure your happy with whats going on during the whole construction. What I really like about them is they don't over extend themselves so they can concentrate on your home and not be running off trying to do several jobs at once. They also give good advice. This is the second house they have remodeled for us. We are having them come back this late spring and re-do our back deck next. Great people and would recomend them.

Hand M Contracting not only met our expectations, they exceeded them. After purchasing our condo, we decided that it basically needed a complete remodel. It was built in the 1960’s and still had most of the original features. However, finding a contractor wasn’t an easy process. Some of the people we called didn’t even bother to call back. Dan from Hand M was a professional from the first phone call. After meeting with us and accessing our desired changes he let us know what his company could do, when they could begin work, and even gave us a verbal preliminary estimate. Later he emailed us an estimate in writing. Adding to the challenge of the remodel was the fact that we lived 150 miles away from the condo. Even with that obstacle, Dan kept us informed on the progress of the remodel and even made suggestions that improved the original vision we had for the space, advising that we meet him at the condo in person when major decisions had to be made. When we added additional features, he accomplished those with little interruption to the timeline of the remodel.
When it was completed the revisions that he suggested and Hand M’s workmanship far exceeded our expectations and visions for the space. We would (and have) recommend Hand M Contracting to anyone with renovation needs.

Dan Hoyt was excellent to work with. Even though it was a small job, he worked us in and completed the project in one day. He added water hook-ups for an additional washer and dryer, as well as correcting the original dryer vent. Everthing looked great and works well.

The work was excellent. They answered any questions and took pride in their work. They were always on time and didn't waste time.

We Hand M come out to completely remodel the bathroom, kitchen, and put in new drywall all over the house. Everything looks very good, nice quality work. They are very friendly and had some very good suggestions, and were very eco-friendly. They're really good people!!

UPDATE... We stared out with just wanting to redo the kitchen, bath, and floors. We liked the work they did so much we decided to do much more we ended up remodeling the whole house. Dan and Pete are honest, friendly, fair and reasonable priced plus awesome at their job! This home can be a show case home it is so beautiful from top to bottom! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND H and M Contracting!

Dan and Pete, of Hand M Contracting, came highly recommended by three other homeowners that we know well. Hand M were as good as the other homeowners said. They were polite, friendly, efficient and fairly priced. They minimized the impact to our daily lives by timing replacement of kitchen appliances and counters in a narrow window of time and by cleaning all debris throughout each day of work. Dan and Pete made sensible suggestions on how to improve the project and even corrected several mistakes made by the original builder of our house.

We had them come back for removal and replacement of our air-to-water heat exchanger in late 2010 and we have another project that we hope to have them do during Summer 2011. Another family that we encouraged to use Hand M were also very pleased with their remodel. Hand M's work is consistent.

We had contracted our kitchen remodel with a national and quot;big boxand quot; chain. We were fortunate that the subcontractors to this chain that were assigned to our job were H and M Contracting. They did an excellent job. They were prompt, courteous and we were very pleased by their work ethic. They stayed with our job until completion and did a very professional job.
We had issues with some of the cabinets that had been ordered. H and M resolved the problems directly with the big box chain relieving us of that headache.

The ventilation fans in the master bathroom, hall bathroom and laundry room were at least 20 years old and had become very noisy. They replaced all three fans with fans I had purchased myself. They had done excellent work for us before and we are very satisfied with the work performed on this job. We would recommend them highly.

When they were done the ceiling looked better than it had ever looked before. They kept the dirt and debris confined to the room they were working in and cleaned up well enough when they were finished that we didn't have to do any cleaning other than washing the window. They are prompt, courteous and professional. Their quality is excellent.

It went very well. They are very easy to work with, very amiable. They stuck to their quoted price. They worked hard and put in some good days of work.
