Gleason Floor Coverings

Excellent. I am already planning to rehire Pat Gleason to do my upstairs floors next year. His workmanship is high quality, it exceeded my expectations. He pays great attention to the details, and all the finishing bits look great, such as the edge around the fireplace. He also came up with a solution so that my interior rollaway screen out to the patio could stay in place, and the finishing looks much better than it did for the original installation. One of the other contractors I got a bid from looked in my hall closet and said he could not change the carpeting in there because there is a trap door for access under the house. In contrast, Pat went ahead and installed the flooring in the closet, including on the trap door, and improved the edging and handle for the trap door.
His communication is excellent - he always told me what time he would arrive each day, what he planned to do during the day, as well as updating his long term plan for the rest of the project. When my bathroom tile order was delayed, he worked his schedule around to accommodate, and also accommodated plastering/painting of one of the bathrooms to be done by a painter prior to installation of the new toilet and vanity, which decreased the plaster/paint cost for me.
I felt that he had more knowledge of the flooring materials and how best to install them. He told me right away, while measuring for his bid,  where he needed to include joints, because I was having such a large area done in laminate. None of the other contractors I got bids from mentioned this.  My house has a lot of odd angles in it, so there was a lot of cutting involved for the baseboard - they look beautiful.  The only room for improvement is that Pat tends to be overly optimistic in how long tasks will take to complete. But his workmanship is so great that I didn't care. He did all the work himself, just needed another contractor buddy to help with lifting the marble top for one of the vanities. Every day he vacuumed all the sawdust inside the house and cleaned up his work area. I also felt very comfortable giving him unlimited access to my home, whether I was there or not. I had complete trust in him. I definitely recommend Gleason Floor Coverings and intend to use them again.
