This company has been one of the worst service companies I have ever dealt with. The techs who come perform the work are amazing, hence the 2 star rating instead of 1. I have been trying to get a part replaced now for about 3 months. They had some office manning issues and so I was understanding of the initial delay however I was scheduled for repair at the end of September. I called to confirm when they would be out and go figure, I was removed from the schedule. I was then told the office had to talk to the techs before they could reschedule me. Not really sure why that needed to happen considering I was already scheduled. I have since called the office 5 times and left voicemails each time, with no call back still. Thankfully the part needed does not keep my system from completely working, just makes it less efficient.

yes they were rated highly in 2013 by Angies List and I used them to pump out Septic tank. Flash to June 2017 and had them pump tank again for routine- beware they are using scare tactics that your drainfield is in imminent failure but they will perform a Drainfield Diagnostic immediately (digging up the outlet pipe) for over $1200. Coincidentally the "Drainfield Diagnostic' Technician was riding along with the pumper driver. I declined but had them pump the tank anyway. I got a second opinion and they said it's a scare tactic to perform unnecessary work and my tank and drainfield was fine. Beware Beware!

As part of our home purchase, G&N Septic was contracted to replace the septic system by the seller. We - the buyers - agreed with the contract. After we moved in, we permitted them on our newly purchased property to perform the work.
Subsequently, they have failed to honor the contract and refused to respond to repeated requests to correct to situation.
They left a 15-foot tall, roughly 25 cubic foot mound of dirt that they excavated from our yard and have refused to remove it. The mound is two dump trucks full.
The removal of excess dirt was not written in the original bid - the owner says - but any reasonable person would expect the dirt to be removed. The wording in the bid mentioned they were not responsible for damage and replacement of the yard. This completely makes sense and is understandable since they are not landscapers. But no plan was discussed about where the fill dirt. It's implied that it should be removed and not just left on the yard.
This would be like a car mechanic agreeing to fix your brakes and then refusing to restore the tires because it wasn't in the estimate.
The company also left behind broken pieces of pipes in our yard, and two newly installed pipes are exposed and vulnerable to damage. The two other installed pipes are buried under the mound and in danger of damage from any third party we must find to pick up their mess.
On top of this disaster, the company waited weeks to finish after county approval. We had no communication with the company regarding the completion of the project despite requests for an update. We never knew when they were returning to the job site until the morning they randomly stopped by. One employee explained they were swamped with work and had to push back our project.
Subsequent communication to work out a resolution has been met with refusal to answer repeated requests - from "its customer" to remedy the situation.

The soonest they could come back was a week later, after "locates" came out and made sure there were no utilities in the front lawn. George brought out his little back hoe and dug several deep holes in my yard. When I arrived he told me that I needed a new drainfield and that would take a septic designer, but he thought he could save my tank. I asked how he knew I needed a new drainfield, and he pointed to tiny dark spots in the soil and said that was all that was left of my drainfield pipes. When I couldn't make out what he was pointing to, he took a shovel and managed to pick up a tiny shard of a pipe. He told me that after 50 years the corrosive effects of the gasses in the system dissolved the pipe.
Another "locates" was ordered for the backyard, where the drainfield will now be located. The septic designer is beginning his design. He came highly recommended by George. I'm having a little problem communicating a concern, but I'm confident we'll work it all out. If I'm wrong... you'll be the second to know! I'm still in the process of all of this. But, I would guess that it'll take months, and ultimately go well. I'll write more when I know more.
Because sewage backed up through all the drains in my house, and spilled out on the floor (again, this was due to the plumber's choice to not listen to me when I told him it was an interior clog between the sink and the bathtub), I have had to have my bathrooms torn up, and so I have no bathrooms at all. It's hard to keep the septic issue and the lack of bathrooms issue separate, as both, independently are keeping me from being able to live in my home.

Had them out for an issue, service was good and they said there were no issues, but problem didn't go away, had to call again and it turns out they overlooked an electrical issue with the septic system, they billed me for another call and referred me to their electrician who did not show. Had to go with another company to fix it and g&n would not waive the second service call.
Response from G & N Septic Tank Service
"The first site visit in March was for water surfacing from a french drain uphill, approximately 30' from any septic components. Our techs placed dye in the septic system and concluded the surfacing water was not related to the septic. We did notice that there may be an intermittent issue with the pump, but all components were functioning properly when tested. Nearly four months later we were called and returned to the property. It was discovered the pump for the septic system was not functioning properly. During a series of tests we found some corrosion in the electrical panel. We gave a phone number for and electrician that specializes in septic and sewer repair. This electrician is used by numerous septic companies in the area because he carries parts in his truck that otherwise would have to be special ordered. We are unaware of any other electrician that stocks these special components and specifically specializes in septic and sewer electrical repair. We are sorry a separate company missed their appointment. Prior to this negative review we did waive the second service fee. We have never worked at the property address connected to this review. We have however worked for another Schmidt in Lake Tapps. We find it very disappointing when we do our best to remedy a customer's concerns and waive fees only to have an in inaccurate and negative review posted. We strongly urge customers to meet us on site during our visit to their property to fully understand any issues. We believe the issue would have been better understood if the customer would have been available at the site visit."

G&N was one of seven quotes I got when I found out I needed a new septic tank. I always have concerns when I go with the lowest bidder, but they were great. they came in with a plan to help me keep the costs down. When, the county required some additional work be done, instead of coming back to me wanting more money to cover the additional time and materials, they just did the work. It had to add about three hours onto their time.

Needed our septic tank pumped asap. Used them before...top rated...they answered the phone. I really needed this done but they had a full schedule. Still, they worked to fit me in and came within one or two days of the call. Because I leave at 5:30 am and the wife is home telecommuting in the morning, she had to deal with it. But it was easy squeezee. Tech backed in and because the wife was in the middle of a telecom, he ran the bill prior to pumping, (which was fine...I knew it would be 900 gallons based upon the gurgling sounds coming from the floor drains.) She went back to work, he removed the cover and pumped away, and she tells me he was gone before she knew it. Very satisfied and appreciative of them working me in.

I called G & N septic service during a very rainy week after my septic system alarm kept sounding off every few hours. Once the alarm would go off, I would have to manually pump the ground water out of the tank and up to the drain field. I knew it was a busy week for all septic companies since after calling a few septic companies and trying to set up an appointment, I was told it will take at least a week by all of them. I then joined Angie's List and found G & N Septic Tank Service and placed a call that ended my septic week from h***.
G & N came to my house within a two days to replace my risers and after investigating further they found that the job will be much more difficult because the way my system was originally built was not done correctly. They needed to re-do some pump plumbing and electrical work that will save me money and time in the future when it came to replacing my pump.
After getting the additional parts needed to fix my system correctly the next business day, they did the job in a timely matter at a price I was surprised with due to all the man hours involved. At one point, there was 5 people working on my system including the electricians.
I decided to use G & N for all my septic needs, including annual inspections and servicing from this point forward and I highly recommend them to my new Angie's List Friends.

It went really well. They came in, pumped the tank and there were no problems with the service. When setting up the appointment I told them it was not a rush and they were able to schedule me in less then 2 weeks from my call. They gave me a time frame for the appointment and they informed me when they were running late due to traffic. I thought they did a good job.

Wow!! What an experience. The service tech (in this case the owner) showed up on time. Took the time to explain the what, where, how and why of the job. Was very patient with my questions and I had quite a few as this was the first time that I have had this done. As I plan on putting in risers for the openings, he made sure that I knew what I had to do, the materials needed and the best way to do them. Very helpful, friendly. Continued to work while he was talking with me, which I appreciated. I had a wonderful experience and I highly recommend this company to anyone needed their septic tank worked on. I will definitely use them again when the time comes.

The company was excellent! They came in the day before to pump the tank and identify the problem. They came the next day for the job and finished that day. They were very professional and their estimate was right on. They were very timely and quick. When they left, you never would have known they were there.

I called G&N and they were able to come out the same week, which I appreciated. I requested that they call just before arrival, which they did also. I had a few questions for their technician, Corey, then he got right to work. He gave me a report after the tanks were emptied and cleaned (less than an hour); all looked good. I asked that his company send me a reminder when service was due again, which he said would be done.
I was quite satisfied with G&N and intend to use their services as long as we have a septic system.
