I decided i'd address the wood rot on a raised deck at the house. I wanted to try metal caps to place on the big beams that supported the deck. I found Apex and called and met Jim and gave him the two measurements for the two sizedcaps i needed. He looked at my drawings and did some drawings of his own and then scratched out the units and material and gave me a quote for $450. That was about $200 less than i expected so i was very happy. It was a small job, so they fit it in as they could, which was fine with me. When it was done, i picked up the 55 caps and they all fit the two sized beams perfectly. I like the look and i think it may help me get many more years out of the deck. I was very hapy to work with Apex. Make sure you call first, because the business is tucked away and getting their directions helped. It's an "old school" little business but they did great work at a great price.
