We have quite a few pets; cats, dogs, and turtles. We have been using them for 20 years. He is an "A" all of the way in every single category. He prices the same on medicine. On flea medicine, you can buy something for a dog that weighs 10 lbs. or he told me to just get the big container for the dogs that weigh 89 lbs. and he gave me a scale that says how much to give to small, medium, and large dogs. You get 16 doses for the same price. The medication says not to give it to cats, but it's identical. He said as long as you know it's .4 mil you can give it to your cats and dogs. Otherwise you're paying $60 for 3-4 doses when you can get 16 doses. I will and have used him again. He was really busy so the wait was an hour, but there was 10 people in the waiting room. I understood because I didn't have an appointment or anything. The vet is great. My daughter's dog had little doberman puppies and they looked like little clones. You couldn't tell one from the other. He had a black marker that every time he would do something for one of them, he would put a mark on their foot to know he took care of them. After he took care of them, he would give them a little kiss. They definitely love the animals. He really tries to help you out. One time my granddaughter didn't have a lot of money so he just charged her a small amount. Or you can go in and ask how much heart-worm medicine is and he will just give it to you. He is right across the freeway. It is very handy for us. He has the animal's welfare at heart.
Description of Work: My daughter had a German Shepard puppies and somebody accidentally stepped on one of them and broke their leg. They took him over and put it in a splint. They did an x-ray. We also get flea and heart-worm medicine there.

I have gone out there many times, requested to meet DR Hanna, my dogs vet. I had to request to meet him and another vet came out. I didn't like her. I never got to meet the main vet. I hear he is a good vet but I wouldn't know so I started to go to another vet. More costly but I have met him. Thank you |Rosalie Baker

Our 4 year old Basenji mix loves to run and somehow managed to badly cut her foot in our yard yesterday. One of the pads on her front foot was nearly cut off. Our regular vet had no openings but Smokey Point Animal Hospital was great when we called, they said to bring her in and they'd work her in to be seen within about 1/2 hour. They actually saw her right after we got her registered. The vet did a thorough and caring exam and reassured us that we made the right call waiting until morning to bring her in. My husband was a wreck and the vet was great with him too! Our dog stayed the day and had her foot treated under general anesthesia (dog is friendly but very hyper, this was clearly the only way). They also offered to do her dental while she was and quot;outand quot; but we didn't have the funds on short notice. Given that she got an exam, shots, had the wound cleaned and repaired, had anesthesia, IV fluids and meds for home, I thought the price was reasonable. Dog was ready to go at the time we were told to pick her up and the staff again was very good with both her and us. The only small issue we had is that we went home without one of her (optional) medications, but that is probably as much my fault as theirs. They are only a couple of miles down the road so no problem to pop in and pick it up tomorrow. We got nice written care instructions, encouraged us to call if any problems before her stitches are due to come out. When we mentioned that we had recently moved, the receptionist even looked up the info for us to change the address on our dog's chips.
Description of Work: Our dog cut the pad of her foot nearly off. They stitched her up under general anesthesia and got her shots updated while there. They even trimmed her toenails for us!

Fanatstic. Experience has been great. Dr. Ron has spent many years helping sick and injured animals. He is very knowledgeable and treats animals in a respectful and caring manner. Another time Dr Ron waited 2hrs to see dogs after a car accident. Really a great guy. Another time his office sent a sympathy card when one dog passed. Great Vet!
Description of Work: The last visit was for 4 dotsons nail clippings.

We adopted three kittens from a shelter in early September. We brought them home knowing they had respiratory infections. They shelter gave us antibiotics and a coupon for a free exam by a vet in King County. The kittens were not improving, so I called Smokey Point based on reviews here on Angie's List. They had an appointment available for that day, and they agreed to honor the coupon even though they are not located in King County. The office feels comfortable, and everyone was very nice and helpful. We were seen by Dr. Pritchard right at our scheduled time. Over the next few weeks, we had to bring one or more of the kittens in for follow-ups. We were always treated kindly and professionally. The rates charged have been very reasonable. I feel my cats are in very knowledgeable hands, and I will continue to bring them to Smokey Point in the future. All of the kittens are now healthy and playful.
Description of Work: Exam and follow-up for 3 kittens with respiratory and eye problems.

When our old dog got sick last Christmas eve, we called Smokey Point Animal hospital. Even though it was after 5pm on the night before Christmas Eve, Dr. Ron (who answered the phone), said to bring him down and he'd wait for us. We did. He told us Troop would need surgery, which he performed the next day (on Christmas Eve), and even followed up with a phone call to see how he was doing on Christmas day! Smokey Point Animal hospital has, over and over again, far exceeded our expectations and, if that wern't enough, is, by far, the most reasonably priced vet I've ever come across (even the "discount" places). If you have a pet that needs a vet, they will take good care of your baby.
Description of Work: "Dr. Ron" and his staff at Smokey Point Animal Hospital were highly recommended to us when we first moved to Arlington 4 years ago. Since then, as owners of 1 dog and 1 cat, we've brought our "kids with fur" to them several times. Every time, they have taken such good care of our "babies".
