On 9/14/2011, a plumber doing unrelated work under my condo noticed that the combustion exhaust vent was not connected causing the furnace to exhaust directly into my crawlspace. The carbon monixide could have killed my family!!! Upon further investigation, I noted additional installation issues: 1) 2" exhaust ducting was used whereas the installation manual clearly calls for 3". The pressure blew the undersized duct off the furnace! 2) The installation manual calls for two 90-deg elbows to be installed on the combustion intake. This was not done. 3) The AC power switch near the furnace was not connected so that the only way to turn the furnace off is with the circuit breaker. This is in violation of the national electrical code. On 9/17/2011, I contacted Kalef's by phone and was told he was out of town for the next week and a half. Due to the unsafe nature of the installation, I contacted another contractor to fix the problems. Frankly, I don't really want Kalef near my home again.
Description of Work: Kalef's installed a new Rheem furnace in my condo on 7/7/2011 for the previous owner as part of the pre-sale agreement.
