They did a great job! We had such a bad snow and my previous service provider I used to remove snow let me know the snow was too high with the drifts and he wouldn't be able to clear the snow. I called Vermont Stone and they came out right away and cleared by driveway. I was very happy with them!

The owner, Dave, is very personable and quick to respond to a request for plowing. The plowing job is excellent and he goes way above and beyond what you would expect for plowing and does it at a very reasonable price.

We received a written estimate and a description of the scope of the work. We were advised to go to a stone and masonry yard to pick out the blocks and pavers that we liked best. Vermont Stone came on the date they said and started work leveling the area for the walkway.
After the path and retaining wall were finished, they brought in topsoil to finish the area.
We are extremely pleased with the work and will certainly hire them again next time.

David from Vermont Stone gave us a full and complete estimate. He encouraged us to ask questions and to visit the materials yard to decide on the path and wall stones and to pick the right colors to complement our home. He answered every question we had. Work started promptly and he carted away the debris of the excavation nightly, so we didn't have piles messing up our front yard. We watched the precision with which David measured and staked the exact dimensions of the retaining wall, making sure we agreed with the height and extent. He reviewed the work with us and cleaned up before leaving daily. Laying out the shape and curves of the walkway path was a collaboration. David always made sure we understood the design and placement of the paving stones as he progressed. We talked about how to fill in at the edges of the work and David brought many loads of top soil for the garden and to smooth out the levels to our lawn. We are extremely pleased with our new retaining wall and walkway built by Vermont Stone.

These guys showed up with heavy equipment, and were like a bull in a china shop. Damaged: a dry well even after being told where it was; a slate retaing wall and an ivy bed; cobblestone driveway trim and a concrete apron. The patio is wavy, and puddles form after the slightest shower. They were too cheap to bring enough paving stones, so they had to get more but they came form a different lot and are a noticeable missmatch. I've been trying to reach them with no luck. First the greeting on dave's machine said he'd been in a serious accident, then it said he'd moved to Vermont!

David the owner of Vermont Stone came on time to talk with us. He told us to outline the curve we wanted in our walkway. He suggested that he could order bricks that match our existing bricks, so there would be no color or size changes in the bricks. Any time we had questions, the Vermont Stone folk were glad to explain things.

We wanted to replace an old concrete porch. We wanted a curvy, flowing brick front walk from the front door to the driveway. We phoned Dave of Vermont Stone and he came when he said he would. Vermont Stone's owner Dave came several times to give us an estimate and make suggestions about materials--Dave helped us design the walk so that it was wide enough for comfortable walking. We wanted the walk to divide around a planter area. After the walkway was finished, Dave brought us topsoil for the planter area. We are now having Vermont Stone create and build a walkway around the side of our home and a retaining wall on a slope where a garden will be.
