They were very prompt in setting up the installation and all looked well until they actually installed. When installing the new Formica counter tops the used too long of screws and defaced the top. I accepted a cost allowance with the condition they would repair the top. After 2.5 months and tracking the owner ,Tim Makepeace, down 3 times, and numerous promises, they never completed the job. His initial promises were that my kitchen would be improved. When I approached him about connecting the sink cabinet face front he s aid it was loose to begin with.it was not. We finally had words and I did the repair myself in 1/2 hr. I would never hire this company again.

After 9 months of high frustration trying to get paid work completed and mistakes corrected, Green Mountain Builders' owner, Tim Makepeace, walked off the job leaving our house a mess. The porch he built lacked support for a load-bearing beam, our new kitchen floors buckled massively and worked promised (and paid for) was never completed. During Hurricane Irene, Green Mountain Builders failed to protect the new roof they were putting on which led to significant flooding throughout the house. While understandable given the extreme rain, failing to live up to his many promises to correct the damage is not. The completed roof also had leaks which we brought to his attention but he failed to correct. Deposits paid for a door and windows were taken but never installed. We have since had to pay legitimate professionals to fix Green Mountain Builders' many mistakes. Electricians, plumbers, floor specialists and carpenters all expressed shock at the poor workmanship.

I've been really pleased. I hired them because Tim, the owner of the company, impressed me with his ideas when we first talked about the house. Since I've gotten into it, he's helped me a lot answering questions and talking me through things I've been working on. When it's their turn to step in, they do a great job. It is sometimes tough pinning down an real estimate, and that's been a little tricky at times. The crew arrives very early and gets right to it--as far as I can tell they work really hard and know what they're doing. The work is high quality, not top of the line super-luxury, but as good as I'm looking for in an old house I intend to sell. The biggest thing for me is that the crew is professional and the more I work with them, the more I trust that they're doing good work and billing me fairly for it.
