Ray contacted my father-in-law who was having the interior upper floor of our house painted as a house-warming gift for us. The house definitely needed the TLC but overall was in pretty workable shape. Ray had come in and seen the house with no furniture in it and as it was when the prior tenants moved out so there were no illusions about what had to be done. He looked it over and gave my father in law a price of $125 per room and we would provide the supplies, paint, brushes, tape etc. We were impressed with his speed but when we actually moved in a few months later is was painfully obvious that he did absolutely no prep work on the walls. The bathroom in particular was really bad with fixtures getting paint on them and the edges around the tub having gaps. Wall sockets didn't get taped off so quite a few of them got hit with paint. Window sills got hit with paint in more than one place. I'm thankful that none of our floors had been put in yet so he wasn't able to cause any damage to them. At the end of the job, a few tools and some other small items around the house came up "missing". Unsurprisingly when I asked Ray about the tools he didn't call me back to let me know if they had made it into his bag. My biggest gripe is that the skim coat that is used to prepare walls for painting just wasn't done in some key areas, especially the bathroom. To top off everything, he ended up charging $125.00 per coat of paint per room. My father-in-law is very non-confrontational so I didn't find this out till many months later! I think he was just out to turn a quick buck in a slow time of the year and didn't care how it came out. Use this guy at your own risk!
Description of Work: Ray was hired to paint the top floor and entry way of our raised ranch home. This included 3 bedrooms, the living room, the kitchen, 1 bathroom and the foyer.
