This company, more really an individual with some experience in house jacking, had neither the professional experience nor equipment to take on the job they quoted for me. Over a period of 3 weeks they never worked 5 days a week, would show up at odd times, and work only for several hours, then leave. They asked for 1/3 down, made out to the principle Gary Deschamp, not the Company name, and left immediately to go to my bank to cash the check. They did this same thing looking for the second check (way too early), left for the day and took the money. At start of job, they said they "move all wires and pipe" in order to get the job down, however, when a sewer pipe was too close to the wall, they refused to move it, and denied they ever said they move sewer pipes. Mr. Deschamp and his partner used medical excuses to avoid finishing work, and would not provide contacts to confirm any absences; making it appear like a scam operation. The final concern was when they called to say they could not come to work for the foreseeable future because Mr. Deschamp's hospital visit to get a back injection went afowl and he had to be admitted to the hospital because "the doctor had scrapped his spine with the injection needle and they were rushing him into testing." I learned (only after they started work) the Vermont Attorney Generals office had/has 3 seperate complaints on file, the most recent was 3 weeks before they started my job. I had to relieve them of their contract, expecting to get some money back, but they were ready for this--they had produced an itemized list of all work they claimed to have done already which amounted to MORE than the 2/3s payment they had received, and expected to get another $2000 out of me. Two dubious items were $1000 for removal of a 4" diameter tree he said he needed to cut to get his backhoe in, and also $800 to dig a 3 foot length of dirt surrounding a pipe. I lost $12,300 to this unscrupulous company, Green Mountain Jacking.
This is a scam operation and consumers would be wise to avoid Green Mountain Jacking, Gary Deschamp, principle owner/operator.
