Reliant Electric Works

Reliant Electric serviced my Generac backup generator when it started running continuously even when grid power was working. Nate spent about an hour on a snowy day diagnosing the problem which turned out not to be the “usual” cause, a blown fuse. In the end, he determined that there was a short in the underground control wire but recommended that we wait at least a month for any frozen water in the conduit to thaw before fishing a new wire. He set the generator up so I could start it manually in case of an outage. He returned about six weeks later when the ground was thoroughly thawed and replaced the wire. Sure enough, the old wire had been damaged probably from years of sitting in water and freeze/thaw cycles. He replaced it with a heavier gauge wire and gave me some suggestions for drilling a drain hole in the conduit. He tested the generator to make sure it would start in a power outage and also checked the plugs and valve clearance while he was there just to be certain everything was in good shape. Nate was neat, friendly, informative, completely professional, and most importantly, highly skilled. Reliant is a bit pricey, but for this type of work it pays to have someone with years of experience who was able to diagnose the problem correctly and fix it right the first time.

Multiple visits for issues never resolved, scared tenants, charged for specifically refused services, never returned my keys, and no proactive communication with me or between employees.  It was my worst service experience with a vendor in the Burlington, VT area by a mile.

They did just fine.  I decided to use them because the electricians were associated with the building that we were using.  Their work was fine, no problem.  

They were very nice and pleasant.  They got the work done, no problems.  As far as I know we did not have any problems with the work at all.  
It was part of the bigger deal and it was part of the bills that I paid.

Went well. The technicians were professional and worked diligently. Everything was put back together when they were done and they cleaned up behind themselves. 
The appointment was scheduled quite quickly and the technician even reorganized his other commitments a touch to be present when the hot tub was being installed to ensure that the routes to the tub were sufficient and wired to the tub correctly.

Chris S. arrived on time. We placed a call the day before and the next morning an appointment was made for the afternoon. He was cordial and clearly understood what we needed to get done. He installed two outlets and struggled with installing an occupancy switch we bought from Home Depot. We have a 1950s house and the switch required ground wiring, which we did not have. Chris tried multiple times to install, and no fault of his own, it just didn't work. He suggested we go to a local electrical store to get an occupancy switch that doesn't require grounding. He said he was willing to give my husband instructions to do the installation or return to do the installation himself.  Overall, we are satisfied with Reliant and will certainly call upon them for our electrical needs.

Doug showed up on time and installed a number of outlets, including one that is connected to the generator in case I get a freezer, and several overhead lights in a very dark side of the basement.  The builder's electrician had also put all of the overhead lights on one switch, even though there are two separate sides to the basement, so Doug rewired those so that I can turn on just one end of the basement and not have all lights blazing when I am down there.
He kept me apprised of what he was doing and cleaned up thoroughly afterward.  He is very pleasant to work with and worked constantly, no breaks except for a short lunch break, for the entire day.
I am VERY pleased with the work and would certainly recommend Reliant Electric Works to anyone who needs electrical work done.

Mike Abel and Ryan (both of Reliant Electric) performed the job. They were both very professional and polite and their job was done with utmost care and according to code.  They were quick and finished the job satisfactorily. They even vacuumed and cleaned after themselves! We would highly recommend this company.
This being our first experience with Reliant was very positive and satisfactory. The office person who took our call first to Chris, to Mike and Ryan, were super nice and friendly. these are a very competent and professional crew.

I scheduled the appointemnt by phone, the call was very fast and efficient, all pertinent info was requested, and I was given an appointment about a week out, which was better than I expected. Chris showed up precisely on time, and was very professional, friendly, and courteous. Heperformed all the work in about three hours time, made sure everything was done to my satisfaction, and left everything clean and orderly.
I have no complaints, this is an excellent, reasonable, and professional company to do business with. I would use them again in a heartbeat.

Chris, from Reliant Electric, replied to my original phone message very quickly and came to our house to see what work we wanted/needed done the next day. He gave us an estimate that turned out to be close to what we ended up paying and set a date to do the work while he was here. When he came to do the work he worked efficiently, was professional, and took the time to show us what he was doing so that we understood the original problems and changes being made. My husband and I are first time home owners and had never had to do anything like this before. Chris made us feel really comforable. We were very appreciative of the way he explained everything to us, and talked to us respectfully even though we didnt' know much about electrical work. He helped us to understand and feel comfortable with all the work he was doing and we are very pleased with the results of his work.

This was a great experience from start to finish!  The  gentleman (James) who came and looked at my house and then talked over the options was very low key, but very thorough in his explanations of the propane generators Reliant sells.  Actually recommended that I not go with a whole house generator since he said I didn't really need it and recommended the next model down, based on what I want to run if the power goes out.  (Usually sales people try to talk you up in price not down!)  I appreciated not having to spend more money than I needed to!

The installer(s) came twice (in very cold weather), once to dig the trenches and install the piping and then again for the installation of the generator.  They even dug the trench for the propane company!  They had to go in and out of the house a lot, installing and testing the circuit breaker box for the hookups to the generator and took their shoes off each time!  The main installer (Doug) kept me up to date on each step as they did it and then walked me through the operation of the generator, step by step, even warning me about a loud noise that will happen when it kicks on and off.  It was a very thorough explanation!  I was taking notes so he went slowly so I would be able to write down everything I wanted/needed to.  He encouraged me to call if I had any questions. (They have 24 hour service)

This is a family owned company and both Doug and James are related to the owners.  By the time the installation was finished I almost felt like a member of the family!  Reliant Electric Works is an absolute pleasure to work with!!!

I was very satisfied with my experiences with Reliant Electric Works. I found them very prompt. The workers were very friendly. The work they did was a good quality. I will use them again in the future if needed.

I had some recess lights in my kitchen right above the sink where the ballasts were bad.  I had to get them replaced.  Since the ballasts are old technology I opted to go for brand-new LED lights that would supposedly last 30 or 35 years.  I wanted something modern, efficient, and something that would last forever.  The technician who came out was very friendly, very helpful, and very courteous.  I was pretty happy.  Everything happened as scheduled.  However, they tried to pocket the rebate money that I got that came with the newer lights.  It was $40 or $50.  I knew about this ahead of time anyway even though they had not told me.  They canceled my check, and I haven't heard from them since.  They were very friendly and cooperative.  They had a lot of good suggestions too.  They were very helpful in that department.  Their price was within reason.  They didn't gouge me on the prices.

We are very pleased with their service. They have been prompt and efficient. As far as we can tell they did an excellent job. They did extensive work on the wiring after we bought the house. We have been very pleased with their work. Their price was very reasonable. They were appropriate for the service and materials. They are very busy but they come as soon as they can. We would certainly hire them again.
