I called Burlington Sub to get a part replaced that was under recall on my 05 Sub Outback. I asked the process and was told it would take on hour or so for the part to be checked to determine whether it needed to be replaced. If so they may or may not have the part. It they did it would be a total of 3 or so hours. If not it may be several days to get it. If the part was not in stock and it was deemed unsafe to drive (my understanding) the car would not be returned to me and I was on my own as to how to get about without it. Not even a ride home was offered.I said thank,you and will not be calling again. I called Twin City in Montpelier and it was a whole other experience.

There was some miscommunication in terms of which belt was supposed to be replaced. At an earlier appointment, I was told the drive belt had to be replaced; I called back the next day to make that appointment. The person making the appointment put it in as the timing belt needed to be replaced (not the drive belt). When I went in for the appointment, no one picked up on the mistake (myself included). By the time I realized that they were replacing the wrong belt, the technician already had my engine apart and it was too late. Burlington Subaru (in particular, Jay) went above and beyond and was able to get authorization to discount the parts/labor and get some parts covered under my extended warranty (there was a $400 price difference between replacing the drive belt vs. timing belt). They took a situation that could have been very frustrating and difficult and turned it into a more than acceptable outcome.
As an added bonus, they also wash your car with each service. They also offer a shuttle service. Overall, highly recommended. Prices are on the high side of what I've been quoted, but the service can't be beat and they do go out of their way to ensure that their customers leave happy.

I went in thinking I needed only an alignment and found out that I needed a lot of suspension work. Subaru is very thorough at inspecting your vehicle and suggesting needed work (some of which can be put off until a later time). They do good work but the cost seems to be above that of other local garages. The did give a 10% discount on one portion of the repair which was helpful.

I pretty much described my overall experience in the sevice description section of this report. I was completely satisfied with my overall experience at Burlington Subaru, and would give them an A rating.

I cannot recommend using these guys. I love my Subaru WRX, which was purchased before I moved to Vermont. It’s a shame that we don’t have a decent dealer in the area. My experience: I took my Subaru WRX in for routine maintenance and state inspection. I got a bad feeling the minute I got in, but figured I’d still give them a shot. They called me back around the time they said the car would be ready for to tell me that it was going to be $800+ for service to change all the fluids and sparkplugs, plus an extra $200+ to change the fog light in order to pass inspection. I told them to forget it. I checked my fog lights later when I got home and they were both working… Maybe it’s the mechanic’s fog light that was defective. The next week, I took my car to a local mechanic, highly recommended by friends and colleagues, who only charged me $40 for service and inspection… Don't trust Burlington Hyundai-Subaru.

Very well. They understood my description of the problems I was having with the car, they called with an estimate and clear explanation of necessary work and they had the work completed and ready on time.
