Furniture - Sales
Long story short, Ethan Allen promised me something that they couldn't deliver. Had they done research prior to taking my money, this would have been discovered much sooner. The problem was not discovered until 2 months after having ordered the piece.
The store owner promised to pick up the piece and give me a complete refund, but never called me to make arrangements. Instead, he hired an attorney to act on his behalf. The second of two letters stated that he would take "no further action" with regards to my complaint.
I am very disappointed that this could not be resolved amicably. Only after I filed complaints with the Better Business Bureau and the Vermont Attorney General's office did they contact me about following through on the refund.
What upsets me most of all is that I felt good shopping at Ethan Allen as it is a Vermont company and I wanted to shop local.
Be aware that if you shop at this Ethan Allen location, you are taking a big risk. If everything runs smoothly, then you'll most likely be happy. But if something goes wrong, don't expect responsible customer service in response.
