Classic Metal Restorations

I met Anthony through multiple Google searches/local service people word-of-mouth - I needed to get some sandblasting/priming and chrome plating done on parts for a restoration I'm working on, and he was the closest.  I contacted him, told him what I was looking to have done, and we agreed on a price.  I asked if I could see some of his work & he invited me to his shop, which was a little depressing looking and not very professional, but the plating work looked great so I went ahead.  He did some large-scale blasting/priming and chromed a small piece for me.  The blasting left a good bit to be desired - he didn't get all the rust off some parts, and left self-adhesive foam on another... didn't even blast it all off!  The priming job was poor, barely coating the surfaces he'd blasting and leaving some areas unprotected...  the part he chromed wasn't fully polished, and when I asked him why the part wasn't fully polished his response was "I was afraid I'd burn through the thin wall of the tubing."  I asked him why he didn't call to tell me this beforehand, and he said he didn't think it was a big deal and didn't know any workarounds - that was as good as it was going to get.  He also made me wait three weeks before tackling the task because he couldn't afford to buy the pieces needed to fix his blast booth, even after I offered to buy the parts partially in lieu of payment.  He also specified that I write the check in his name vs. the company name "for tax purposes"...  Unfortunately, he's one of the only games in the region, so for close/quick work I don't have a ton of options.
