Wayne cleaned my chimney and was asked to replace a missing chimney cap that blew away during a storm. He didn't have the right size cap on hand but said he would return the following day and put one on. He said the charge was $85 for the chimney cleaning and $160 for the cap/install since he would have to make a special trip back the following day for it. I thought the price seemed really high but he insisted that it should be done right away before more rain came which could cause damage to the oil furnace. Since, I was worried about potential problems with my furnace, I agreed. he asked for full payment up front so i hesitantly wrote him a check for the $245. After he left, I went outside and noticed that he left all of the creosote from the sweep on the roof. I thought that was very unprofessional. As it blew off during the next few days, I had to sweep it off the deck. The following day (Friday), Wayne left a message and said he ordered a cap but it wouldn't be in until Monday so he would come then to install it. He did not come on Monday nor did he call. Nor on Tuesday. Nor on Wednesday. I called him on Thursday to see what the heck was going on and he said that he had the cap and that he had another job in my town on Monday and that he could do it then. He made lots of excuses including that he couldn't go on the roof in the rain. It is noted that it did not rain Friday (the day he originally said he would come) nor Saturday nor Tuesday nor Wed. It barely rained Sunday and Monday. When he finally came the following Monday (11 days later) he had even more excuses prepared because he knew that he had screwed up but didn't offer any partial refund for the exorbitant amount he charged for the cap install that he insisted had needed to be done immediately. The guy is full of excuses, doesn't follow up by phone, overcharges, and did sloppy work. I certainly will never have him back to my house.

My calls were returned promptly and courteously.  My scheduled appointment had to be changed due to unforeseen circumstances, but I was able to reschedule in the same week.  Showed up on time and got the job completed promptly.  This is the second year I have used this service and will definitely use him again.
