Very nice guy who took the time to go through every aspect of the project at different times during the job. I would recommend him to anyone who needs electrical work done. After the rehab on the house is complete I plan on using him to rewire the future guest house.

 + -1 moremore than anxious to answer any questions I had on the approach they were taking and how the end result would function.The complete installation of the electrical aspects of the generator were performed flawlessly and the unit started up, cut over the power, and reverted back to Green Mountain Power on the first test. I was at home during the installation and was thoroughly impressed with the 12 Gauge Team's professionalism and complete knowledge of exactly what had to be done and how to approach the installation. I would unequivocally recommend them for any home electrical work and plan to use them as my exclusive electricians in the future. They arrived on time, traveled quite a distance to my home to do the work, and completed the work in the estimated time frame and in an extremely professional manner.
Description of Work: I purchased a GENERAC 10 KW stand by generator with transfer switch from Home Depot and had them deliver the unit. I had my local propane dealer deliver a larger propane tank and install & test the necessary lines. Bill Kretzer and his assistant installed the generator transfer switch and necessary electrical work so that the unit would start automatically in the event of a power failure and cut over the power to our home for the duration of the outage. Once the power was restored, the unit would cease operation and switch back to Green Mountain Power.

 + -1 moreHe clearly knows exactly what he is doing and even with the anomalies of a house built almost 150 years ago, he's able to figure out cost effective, safe and aesthetically pleasing ways to get the wiring where it needs to be. He is very efficient, so he's not trying to fatten the bill when he does jobs that are not previously quoted; that is, some work he does at an hourly rate. Quoted jobs never go over, and are sometimes less than he estimated. Not only does he not resent my husband doing some of the (non-electrical) prep work, which would make his job a bigger one, but he works with us to recommend cost efficient solutions. We trust him completely. He is a very nice local family man who is a wonderful member of the community. He knows what he's doing. He calls back promptly and keeps his commitments. He's very cost efficient. And he is very friendly---a good guy! We recommend him completely and without reservation.
Description of Work: Bill has completely rewired our 1870 home during the past 3 years. We bought the house with knob and tube everywhere, but he replaced it all and added outlets and lights, mostly with his recommendations for what works best in a home, and he has been right on with his recommendations. We also needed another breaker box for our new kitchen and he installed that as well. Simply put, he has installed everything electrical in our home.
