Asked for better upgrade internet was told that I could not get that for the area that I am in

cond:lI moved to rural Vermont from the Boston area after 30 years of increasing congestion and uncontrolled urban sprawl. And if you live South of Boston, as I did, you know that now it doesn't matter when you try to get into town, it robs you of years. Some days I was sure I'd be collecting Social Security by the time I got to the Mass Ave exit.  Up here Fairpoint Communications is the ISP. I was a Comcast customer where I was and though it seemed to be slowing down a little over the last few months it was tolerable. The experience here was a real eye opener. First: it took me less than five minutes to get the router out of the box and connected to the internet. Awesome. No appointments, no guys fiddling for an hour. Second: the speed with which pages load is truly epic. I always considered DSL inferior to cable but boy was I wrong. The instructions they provide with the router they mail you are so easy that folks with room temp IQ's can do it. Third: setting up secure wi-fi is a little trickier so I called tech support and got Dorian in under two minutes (as good as Apple, my gold standard) who walked me through the setup of wi-fi and email in 10 minutes without a glitch. Professionalism defined: the right thing in the right way at the right time...and friendly. Now I have one traffic light between me and my doctor and no traffic slowing me down online. I decided to drop TV since most everything on TV these makes me feel horrible or miserable. But if you want it Fairpoint has a good deal with Direct TV for satellite.

I would use their services again in the future.

The service is fine I would give an A for the overall service. I like the customer service they provide we will continue to use them in the future.
