The first time--which was 2 or 3 years ago now--he completely dissassembled and essentially refurbished the drum section of my dryer, repaired a bad latch, and had the dryer running like new by the time he left. It's been running perfectly ever since. He was also able to provide discounted parts that he salvages from machines that were at the end of their practical lifespans.
This time around, the elbow that connects the dryer exhaust to the flexible hose (which connects to the outside vent) had clogged. The dryer had started to overheat, which caused the thermal fuse to do it's job by melting and cutting power to the dryer. Allen was able to diagnose this quickly, had the necessary part on board, and had me back up and running in about a hour's time after cleaning the elbow and installing a new fuse.
