From a 9:00 message left by us on Sunday morning to the follow up call and appointment early the same afternoon, we were very pleased with the Vermont Well and Pump experience. Rob diagnosed our suspiciously quiet and completely non productive well pump and showed me just where the thick twist of wires had frayed down. He offered to replace the pump that fritzed out with a new one, and had us up and running again in 2 hours! Just 24 hours after realizing our predicament we are happily back to normal.

Receptionist at VWand P was congenial and we set up a time at my convenience. Paul called and asked if it would be OK if he came a little early. Upon arrival he immediately went to the basement and took current measurements on the pump circuit. His meter showed that the pump was drawing a higher than normal amount of current upon starting and stayed a little high while running. Seeing as it was tripping the circuit breaker and that it was 25 years old, we decided it should be replaced. Paul raised the pump from its 275 ft depth using a pump pulling wheel on the back of a specialized truck. The pump was a mass of what looked to me to be red algae. We have a high iron content in our well water as well calcium. The intake screen was not fouled, so this further confirmed that the pump was going bad. The pump was replaced with a 1/2 HP Goulds. In the process of separating the pit-less fitting, Paul got sprayed pretty good as we forgot to relieve the pressure in the second dwelling. Though he got pretty wet on a somewhat cool day, Paul took it all good naturedly.

A week later, again at my convenience, Tyler arrived on time to replace our old steel pressure tank with a 22 gallon Flexlite fiberglass one.

Everyone at VT Well and Pump was congenial, prompt, and professional. I feel we got a fair deal and excellent service.
