Fred Howard Contruction

The quality of work was excellent. Mr. Howard is probably the best at what he does. I was so impressed that I gave Mr. Howard an extra $500. The problems began 6 months later when he started to randomly bill me for the same project that had all ready been paid for. After sending him a note to call me and discuss the extra add on's, he called on other members of the household and threatened to rip the work he had done off the house. The next month another bill for the same amount showed up but now had other items added to it. After contacting local law enforcement, I filed with the Better Business Bureau to recover the overpayment. He finally agreed to refund the overpayment but never sent the check. Mr. Howard also will play games with the payments to him. He wouldn't let me write a check for the whole project, he insisted that I write the several checks in smaller amounts. He then waited until the next tax year to cash them. The person who recommended him to me, also started to receive bills months after the project had been completed and was also asked to write checks to Mr. Howard personally instead of to his construction business. If you have 8 months of time after the project is done to deal with him and don't mind him adding invoices after the project is over, he's your man. Mr. Howard did finally refund the overpayment. Except for the games with the invoices and lack of communication, I am still impressed with the quality of his work,
