LAVOIE PLUMBING & HEATING

We used Lavoie for a fairly large job involving both plumbing and heating removal and reinstallation. It would be hard to imagine a worse (or more costly) experience than the one we had. On the first day that the kitchen sink was installed, it leaked. One of the toilets was not properly vented and bubbles when water is draining elsewhere in the house. A tank for the water supply was installed improperly rendering one valve handle inoperable. Our heat pump did not work once reinstalled; when Lavoie was asked to fix it, they came, did the absolute minimum, and tried to charge an eye-watering amount to make it right (and, surprise to no one: the heat pump was not properly diagnosed or fixed). When the owner was alerted to a few of these challenges, he immediately resorted to aggressive threats of legal action. As a result, we've paid thousands of dollars to another plumber fix the poor quality work of this company.

I've been using Lavoie for the past 20 years, Jason and his brother before him. I'd trust no one else to help me with any plumbing and heating work, and keep me laughing.

Jason was hired to replace my master bathroom tub. Failed to support the tub, just placed it on the plywood and now the tub cracks. Jason also did my basement heat, wouldn’t show up then didn’t secure the pex pipe down. Pipes flex and bounce in the walls. Avoid this company at all costs. When confronted Jason says “find a code issue and I’ll refund you money”.

Jason left after being paid almost 2 years ago for the bathroom/laundry room work. I noticed when I used the washer that it backed up soap into the toilet. I called him several times for more than a year and every time he promised to call right back or stop over and he never did. Finally after more than a year of calling, he stopped by and asked me to call someone else to check for a blockage. He said he would pay for that to be done. The other person came and immediately said the washer was vented wrong. He also checked for a blockage as asked and charged me $165. I called Jason about 6 months ago and he hasn't called me back or come over. Of course he hasn't paid me for the other company either. He gets short with me when I do get him to answer the phone as if almost 2 years isn't long enough to wait for the bathroom to be finished. I might hire someone else and sue Lavoie Plumbing in Small Claims Court.

I liked them. They're terrific and really good with plumbing and any kind of work. They explain to you everything and what your options are and offer reasonable price. I would use them again in the future.

We have used Lavoie Pand H for many years. First, we used Mike Lavoie, who - sadly - died young a year or so ago. We now use his brother Jason Lavoie. Both have been excellent, solving problems at reasonable cost. On one occasion when we had a non-functioning disposal unit, Jason came to the house, solved the problem quickly, and made no charge, remarking, "call me when you have a big problem!" Which we did, and will continue to do. As we all know, plumbers can be tough to schedule. Jason is obviously very much in demand; yet, when we've needed his services quickly, he has always obliged. I highly recommend Lavoie Pand H.

Jason examined the leak before starting and found the pipe was actually had a hairline split. Working on it could have split the whole pipe.
We used Lavoie to install baseboard heating in an addition. Very professional, prices are great. We have had other plumbers do work for us, but this is our go-to plumber now. I highly recommend Lavoie.

This was a tricky job but was diagnosed well before he got there, so no time needed on that end. This was a problem in a duplex with two different renters. Mike came for a quick visit just to size up the job. We then booked a time for him to come in and fix it. That time came and went. After 3 phone calls to Mike to reschedule, we made another appointment. That time was missed too. He said he would call back to reschedule but I again had to call; this time twice, and we booked another time for a Friday when Mike said he felt confident he could get there. He missed that too but at least called to say he was caught up in a boiler job. While on the phone, we set up our final successful time for the following Monday which worked out. Mike was apologetic about the missed appointments, and I understand that will happen. However, the impact affected not only me but two sets of tenants as well. They need proper notification that we're coming in to do work. Plus, I have to write in my appointment book to call back again and again rather than rely on Mike to contact me. The work itself was masterful. Very tight space and he didn't need to do any new cutting. Was in and out in a reasonable amount of time considering the job. Was reasonably affordable too. I've had Mike do work for me before. Very nice guy, professional, but seems too busy. It's nearly impossible to get him to call back. Hard to rely on with a time-pressing problem.
