I had to be out of town, and the job was complete while I wasn't even home. He sent me the bill. No fuse, no worry.

When we got our initial estimate on a new home we bought that we had not moved into yet and we were told that the painters would fill in any holes and sand any bulges or rough spots on the wall before when they painted the home. We painted the doors, baseboards, and trim ourselves.  When we would come in the evening to do our part of the painting I repeatedly kept finding trash in the closets and all around the house, like the workers left over breakfasts and lunches from McDonalds, etcs.  They would put their painting tools away neatly at the end of the day, but their trash and food they left all over the house.

On the day which they were to be finished I came back to look at their work and saw several places where the painting was done sloppily (different color paint dripped onto wall) and not corrected. The walls which Mr. Lafayette told us would be filled were not, and there are numerous places on the walls where there are small and medium size holes which they bothered to fill or smooth out the rough spots like we were told they would. When they were done I also found 3 large trash bags sitting in our kitchen with the empty paint cans, etc. They never even bother to throw them away and left them for us to throw out. I called Mr. Lafayette to ask him to come and see me to pick up the final check so that I could show him what his painters did, but he never showed up and sent his young son in his place. I paid him, but made another call to Mr. Lafayette to discuss these problems, but he never returned my calls. I found these painters to be unprofessional and sloppy. I should not have paid him until he came himself, but I could never get a hold of him after they completed the job. Apparently if you hire these guys you need to stay right on top of them and what they are doing to make sure that they do it right and don't trash your home!

They did an outstanding job. The paint crew arrived when scheduled, notified us if they weren't coming because of bad weather, repeatedly consulted with us about stain and paint colors, redid the front door because we didn't like the first color, completely cleaned up after themselves every day, were as inocuous as 3-4 painters can be. No music, trash, noise, and exceptionally courteous staff. Paul Lafayette, the owner, was in frequent contact with us about every aspect of the job.
