With 20 years of experience in the energy field, we provide a unique range of services designed to conserve energy, optimize building performance, and save you money. Common Sense Energy founder Allan Bullis left his job as a project engineer at Vermont Yankee 20 years ago to focus on energy efficiency and conservation. Since then, Allan has been working to help businesses, institutions, and homeowners conserve energy, operate more efficiently, and save money. Common Sense Energy also recognizes the importance of energy conservation in providing for employment and contributing to the health of local economies. Our Mission To promote and facilitate reducing energy use, while providing the greatest energy savings per dollar spent. To foster energy education via our ‘earn as you learn’ apprenticeships and internships, which enhance the lives of students and community members. To promote job creation right here in our community, keeping more energy dollars local.

Design Review: We work with architects and builders to create integrated energy efficient designs. Existing Buildings: We test and evaluate existing buildings—everything from lighting and machinery to heating and insulation—and we recommend the most cost effective improvements. New Construction and Performance Verification: As independent design consultants, we oversee and test new construction to ensure best practices and building performance.
