GREAT AUK WIRELESS

In the past the service was generally good but over the past 2 months it has been very bad. Toward the end I had been without service for about 2 weeks. I have attempted to contact them but when I call I just get a fast busy signal. It seems they have gone out of business and haven't told anyone.

I have had this service for many years.  They always claim they are going to improve their wireless network but whenever they do it is small improvements that barely keep up with the growing bandwidth demand of using the internet.  Their service goes down all the time and it is nearly impossible to get credit for your down time.  They always blame their networks inadequacies on other things.  They will say the problem must be outside their network or that it is on your end.  I have trouble shot issue with their techs enough that I know where the problems lie.  They will sell you a 5mb download service that you'll be lucky to see half of.  What they won't tell you is that they have 2000 (probably way more.  5000?) people on the same 100mb connection.  If you don't know what that means just think that when a few hundred of those people are streaming video everyone will be stalling a low quality stream.
Go for a different internet provider.  Use verizon or att.  it might be more expensive but it will perform better in most locations. vtel has a new wireless network being deployed in Vermont.  Use them!
