Country Animal Hospital (CAH) has been there for my pets through the last decade. They have gotten my dogs thorugh illnesses and when their time came, helped me to send them to heaven peacefully. CAH always fits you in if your dog is sick and there is an emergency. The vets there are kind and caring and I have never regretted taking my pups there. They also have helped me to get get some pretty complex referrals for knee surgery for my dogs and gave after durgical care that was top notch.
Thei grooming services are great and reasonably priced as well. I plan on using their new doggie daycare soon. Their prices are pretty comparable and seem in line with average costs. Although the staff does try to help you to avoid expensive treatments by preventative medicine.

Country Animal Hospital was the Veterinarian for our cats, but after several visits we started notice a pattern of, what we felt was,"padding the bill" with unnecessary blood and lab tests. Nearly every time we took one of the cats in, regardless of the reason for the visit, a blood test or lab test would be recommended. To be honest, when we had to have one of the cats put down, I was surprised a blood test wasn't recommended to ensure the animal was dead. About a year ago they moved into a brand new building...not surprising with all the extra income they generate from these tests. We now use a vet in another town and will use Country Animal Hospital in absolute emergencies. And only then because they are closer to our home.

In general, I find this practice to be test-happy. The price of an office visit is very high compared to others in the area, and they perform, and re-perform, tests, creating consistently high bills. I also have had very different experiences depending on the vet seen. In the early years, I felt condescended to by the original two vets. When Dr. Hale diagnosed my cat's hyperthyroidism and subsequent treatment, I decided to entrust my cats' care to him, although it seemed that the amount of testing and re-testing was unnecessary and careless. When he mysteriously disappeared and I later saw Dr. Gondek, I was very impressed. He listened, was an excellent diagnostician, and treated both my cats and me with professionalism and dignity. Sadly, he was not at the practice very long. Given the vague answers to my questions at the front desk about his departure, and the fact that this practice seems to be unable to work with male doctors, I left with a bad feeling about the business. I would have changed vets even if I had not moved out of the area.

The staff is friendly and professional. My dog is young, and does not like having her nails clipped. As with all of the services that we have recieved from CAH, they were efficient and receptive to the needs of my dog.
