bathtub refinishing
 + -1 moreThey didn't do a good job the first time. When they were called back the second time, the finish was not smooth. The third time they came out it was because they didn't refinish the whole tube. They also sprayed the paint to heavy and there was a huge drip. We went to call them again and they stopped answering. I had family and friends call and they did not receive any calls back. My real estate agent called and she received a return call. Once they found out that she was calling for me, they said they were booked till June first and couldn't do anything about it. Their costumer service is zero. In checking with the state of Virginia I found out that they by law have to give me a contract. I have never received a contract from them. I will never use this company again.
Description of Work: I hired Campbell's Refinishing to refinish my bathtub from green to a biscuit color. On Feb. 4, 2009, Mr. Campbell arrived to paint the upstairs bathtub. He started about 10:00 AM. Because we were replacing the floor tile, my brother told him that it would only take me 5 minutes to remove the toilet ...giving him more access to the tub. He worked several hours and told us not to run the water for 24 hours and also offered to replace the drain with a new one for $65.00. The next day we noticed the finish felt sandy to touch and we called the company to report it. When Mr. Campbell returned to put in the drain, we told him about the grit on the tub..and he stated this was due to overspray that would wear out in time. He used some sandpaper to smooth out the sandy part of the tub. When we finally removed the toilet we noticed the tub was still green in the lip of the tub and the left hand side of the tub.. Days later he came back to repaint. where he had missed. Before the house went on sale, we cleaned the whole tub as no one lived in the house and we needed to get it ready to show. It was then that we noticed the huge sag of paint on the tub. We called the comapny several times but they never returned our call. My brother, sister, and I called several times and left messages...but our calls were not returned. I finally asked my real estate agent, Wendy Twine, to call and when she called she didn't mention why, so they returned her call around the end of April. When she stated that she was calling about the bathtub problem, they stated they thought that some wall paint had dripped on the tub and that they were booked until June. My agent called back twice to schedule for them to come out and repair the tub, and her calls then were not returned. I called the board of contractors they stated that I should have been given a contract to sign off on...I didn't receive one. I also checked with the BBB and found that they were not members. I feel that this company did not finish the work as requested.
