YORK GRANITE

Tile, purchase only, not installed by York Granite is beautiful and while expensive was comparable to pricing from other sources. Granite sinks, one installed by York, other centered on cabinet by York, glued/secured by contractor, at my request. York disposed of one old marble sink but I wanted to try to donate the other. Habitat for Humanity would not accept w/o cabinet. I requested York Granite to pick it up. Per Ashley they would not given that they did not "install" it She did say she had confirmed this w/owner but had not bothered to call me back to tell me. We "discussed" her poor customer service and when I said I would not be using them again she shrugged and said, and I quote "That's OK we stay very busy" Obviously, for this company, customer service means nothing. This was my second negative experience with Ashley. The first one the owner is well aware of because he intervened to rectify it. I am entering my experience with York Granite (Ashley) in my neighborhood newsletter and the company newsletter so others' will know what to expect when dealing with Ashley at York Granite.

Well.Team did a meticulous repair job with good result for a very reasonable price. Included some granite treatment application as well.

Do not use York Granite. Go with any other company that knows how to finish construction work. They were supposed to finish installation of my countertops by Dec 24 as our contract stated and Stuart the owner told me. John their installer came on Christmas Eve at 3pm tore out my old counter tops and sinks and left without saying a word. No follow up, no call, no explanation and now they won't return any communication with me (text, email, phone call). I now have half a piece of unfinished slab on half my counter with no sink. Granite was supposed to be cut for a 40/60 sink and it is cut for a 60/40. If they can’t get something simple like the size of a sink right my confidence is low that they will be able to finish the job. I was trying to spend the money on a local business but this is a terrible company. They lose emails, don’t return calls, don’t return text you will not be happy with the service. I am having to install a temp sink and counter top until I can find someone competent to finish the job.

The in-home estimate went very well. Stuart, the owner, did the estimate and was great to work with. The quote was competitive, but because he and quot;threw inand quot; a couple extras, we went with his company. Throughout the process, the staff was very responsive, accommodating and professional. If I had one complaint it is the promptness of showing up. Twice the crew said they were going to be at the house between certain hours, but were later than promised. Overall, our experience with York Granite was positive and I would use them again.

Very knowledgeable and professional in their planning of our project. Thorough and precise installation. We are very happy with the end result. We would recommend using this company for tile installation.

Overall it went well and it was a bargain against comparable quotes. York Granite is a young start-up company trying to aggresively grow into a much larger company. We were mutually honest in our expectations with each other and I did insist that our expectations be ratified in a detailed contact. The contract is completed and fully paid without exception.
We personally like the owner and employees who seemed to go out of their way to keep us satisfied. There were a few hiccups along the way but we had the time (we are retired) and inclination to make it work for both York Granite and ourselves. There were a few missed appointments due largely to the owner (Stewart) overextending his very full time commitment.
I believe that this company will be very successful as they learn to better manage their business base. In the interim you can expect good quality work at reasonable prices with a few hiccups (that they will fix at their expense) along the way.
