+ -1 moreThey initially came in with a timeline estimate of 4 months, Oct to Feb. Well, the project took until July. 5 months past their initial timeframe. We had to keep calling for status updates, etc. There delays caused a lot of money in storage fees, etc.. I would not recommend them to anyone on a timeline, as the timeline will not be met.
Description of Work: Renovated family room, bathroom, and kitchen. Add upstairs bedroom and bathroom.

+ -1 moreThe job which could have been completed in about two weeks lasted for more than six months. Most of the work was done without adequate on site supervision. The aluminum covering installed over the fascia on the back of my house was not properly shaped. In some places it hangs as much as 3/4 inch beneath the fascia board. I am unable to open several of my crank out style windows because the tops of the windows hit the low hanging aluminum. About four months after the work began, the ceiling plaster was finally repaired above my fireplace. I then started noticing new stains on the ceiling in the new plaster. From inside my attic, daylight could be seen through the flashing installed around my fireplace chimney. They returned and did some caulking but would not reinstall the flashing correctly. I am still experiencing occasional leaking from the flashing depending on the direction and force of the rain. The head of a roofing nail is visible in one of my shingles. This, of course should have been placed much higher so as to be covered by the next row of shingles. I made a complaint with the BBB in June 2103. Matt McQuillen responded by phone that he would take care of the problem. He stopped by June 22, 2013 to see the problem and said he would call me. I waited until September to contact him again. Mr. McQuillen "thought the work had been done. Today is May 22, 2014. Nothing to correct any of these issues has been done. I recently filed a second complaint with the BBB. Mr. McQuillen never responded. My only option, at this point, appears to be legal one.
Description of Work: Repaired roof from tree fall damage. Removed and replaced shingles and chimney flashing. Recovered fascia with aluminum. Repaired plaster damage in three rooms.

Description of Work: Expand and finish basement, add new room upstairs, remove 2 decks, add new deck and a new second floor room.

Description of Work: We had a roof put on and a room added on to the back of the house where the glass sliding doors accessed a small patio. The room was 15 by 15 with two windows and a door,with ceiling fan and heating and air conditioning duct work, and hardwood bamboo flooring with trim and chair rail. They quoted a price of 25,000.00 which was cheaper than most contractors who came and gave estimates. The room really looks nice and we are fairly happy with how it turned out. We had a few problems we were disapointed with,one, someone who was installing a window drooped it or was damaged in trnsit, but they installed it anyways and by the time we saw it ,(everything else was already done,outside siding, indoor trim), they did drop the cost of the window from the contract price, but I would have been happier if they had just installed a good window. The second problem came up when our insect control people came out and told us it was a building code to notify them during constuction to spray for termites before drywall goes up and floor installed. Niether the contractor or building inspecters said anything to me about it, and termite people charged me an extra 400.00 dollars to dig up around the foundation and drill holes underneath to spray. The whole job did take longer than I would have expected, around four months to complete. But i never felt like they were trying shirk the work,they always returned my calls and never tried to ask for more money than the agreed upon contract. the roof job was done really well,the last time we had a roof put on we had Thomas roofing do it and they did such a poor job, we were really happy to see it done right by Tidewater.
