Went great! Team was very friendly, and very conscientious or protecting our property. Very good work. Since it was work done over the winter, weather played a lot in the exterior work and there were some delays in scheduling, but you can't fight Mother Nature. The shed was fairly new and the painter pointed out some siding that was delaminating that I hadn't noticed. I contacted the shed manufacturer and they made arrangements to come replace that siding. Since it was going to be delayed, the painters painted it anyway and returned later after the repairs were made to repaint the new siding and touch up some other areas. Highly recommended!

Scott came out to review our needs and to make some recommendations. We also received estimates from two competitors. Scott's approach, materials he would use, the paint he recommended seemed the best value and quality for our project. His firm communicated well with us to inform us of some weather delays in scheduling our job. They were easy to work with, professional. We would recommend them and will use them again.

This was done in two days. A team of two gentlemen came. While one pressure washed, the other talked to me about the paint. We agreed on a color and he picked it up. Upon returning, he gave the front entrance door its first coat of paint. On the second day, these two professionals finished the entrance door as well as the other paint projects. They dis a great job and we are happy with the results.

I had to have them come back to fix some spots where they did repairs and the repairs were obvious after the stairwell wall was painted, also in an area where they repaired some nail pops, I had to have them come back to repair them again because the holes popped out again, and they are popping out again, although this has been a problem area since before we bought the house... seems no one knows how to repair it properly so they don't continue to pop out.
They come back to make the repairs and were congenial and pleasant even though they had to come back. The painting was good but I found them to be expensive for what was done.

We are getting the house ready to put up for sale. Scott advised us on painting and suggested that changing out the door knobs & hinges would give the house a better look. They came when they said they would and did the work for the price quoted. We requested several change orders that were done promply and efficiently. Overall, we were very pleased and would recommend Scott and his crew.

We recently had a wall of windows replaced in our great room. Because the interior of the windows (which were painted at the factory) were the wrong color, they had to be repainted after installation to match the rest of the trim in our home. This was a big project as the windows had interior grilles which had to be painted in addition to the frames. Scott was retained by the window company to do this work, and did a phenomenal job. The method he used resulted in a finish that was as good as that which had been done at the factory. We were very impressed with his expertise and professionalism. As the cost of the painting was handled by the window company, we do not have price information.

Curtis and his assistant were very meticulous and did a fabulous job of priming and painting, The pressure washer cleaning was perfect and they did not get any water in the attic. And after Curtis refinished the front door, it looked brand new. The cost was a little high but well worth it in terms of work quality and timeliness.

As loyal Painting by Scott customers, when we needed a new privacy fence constructed, we contacted Scott without any hesitation. He came out the following day to discuss the project and take measurements. He listened carefully to our ideas and specific requests. Thereafter, he promptly provided us with an estimate, which included removal of the existing fencing; installation of new fence posts for a majority of the fence; and construction of the solid fence panels. He also installed post caps.
Work began approximately one month later (which we completely understood, given the terrible winter we had). Scott removed the existing fencing and hauled it away. He used existing fence posts where he could, as well as our existing gate hardware, to save us money but without impacting the integrity of the completed structure. The fence panels and the 2 gates were custom-built using individual 2 x 4s. The shorter, 4-foot sections, were finished with a top rail detail. Post caps were installed on the 6-foot high sections of the fence, and Scott installed solar light post caps that we had purchased on the 4-foot sections.
We are very pleased with the final product. The quality of workmanship and attention to detail by Scott and his assistant Curtis cannot be overstated. My husband was particularly impressed that all of the nails and screws used were precisely aligned.
The entire project took about a week, but would have taken at a little less but for very inclement weather in the middle of the week.

The company came highly recommended by neighbors. The bid was for time and labor (so I learned a lesson here too). The final bill was over 80% more than the original estimate despite the fact that I checked in weekly to follow up on budget and was told that we were on budget. In addition, within one year, the door looks worse than it did before the work was done. The workers showed up on time and worked hard every day. They cleaned up and were very professional. However, given the overall durability of the workmanship and the inaccuracy of the estimate I couldn't use them again or recommend them to anyone else.

"In historical renovations there are always surprises. And surprised after three years did not know there was a problem. I was never contacted about this. The initial complaint was the door was rubbing at the bottom and was hard to open and close. Also, the large fluted door frame and pediment trim items be stripped, primed, and two finish coats applied. The previous repairs included cutting a wedge from one part of the door and attaching it to the gap. I found the hinge pins were worn down and the hinge side of the frame was unstable. I estimated five to six days (two men) for the work. Lead paint was detected for this project. And the entire entrance area was secured. The plan was to square the door, replace the hinges, adjust the opening to fit the new door, prep all the surfaces and paint. A temporary door was installed for the work. The frame could not be adjusted properly and was removed completely for further inspection. We found rotten wood at the rough opening, the frame itself, and the stoop. The previous repairs to the rough opening and door frame was wrong. And is why the hinge side door frame could not be adjusted properly. The whole door frame had to come out, rebuilt, and re-installed. It took one hundred and ninety two man hours to complete. Yes, many more than estimated. I showed and told them, as work progressed, everything involved. I reduced my man hour rate twenty percent because of the increasing cost. When I was finished the door operated perfectly. There was new weather stripping installed too. I wish I was called to look at any problems. And would be happy to come out to take a look. Scott Miller"

We got lots of estimates, and Scott's was the best considering all the work that needed to be done. His rate per hour was better than others. The quality of his work was great, even when we decided to paint over the unstrippable wallpaper, the finished walls look great! I used to do all our interior painting so I know the value of proper prep work and priming, and I'm very satisfied with the job. Scott's assistant was also great, he even rescued a hummingbird stranded in our garage!

I am very impressed with Scott and his crew. As others have said, the cost was a bit more than other bids I received, but Scott's professionalism, willingness to answer all my questions (and there were a lot of them!), and his crew members really won us over. We just felt in the end that this was a person who cared about his work and his reputation.

We discovered that several pieces of our wood siding had rotted from the inside out due to water entering near our electric meter. Scott came by the same day I called to look at the issue. After consulting with an electrician due to the location of the electric meter, Scott timely provided an estimate of the work. He and his crew arrived on time the scheduled day and removed the rotting wood siding and part of a porch post located adjacent to the wood siding. The replacement siding was well-matched to our Williamsburg-style siding. We provided the paint to match the house. The repairs were very well done and make it look like we had never had a problem.
