When I called to schedule my semi annual inspection, the technician arrived and performed the prepaid services. Imagine my surprise when two weeks later I am billed $160 by a 3d party - Bay Electric - for the contracted prepaid services. I called and was informed that Harris was out and Bay had assumed their business. As Bay was not a party to the contract they could bill freely for the previously included services and the now worthless contract holders could sue an non-existent business. Harris never told their service customers that it was disappearing. I was eventually able to get the charge reversed by pointing out I was a lawyer and their assumption of Harris was binding. However there is no guarantee that other contract holders will not be duped as I was.

No response. Harris installed a generator for me and I had a service contract with them for over 7 years. In the past two years I've noticed problems with the transfer switch that a technician attributed to initial faulty wiring during installation. A few months ago I had one circuit repeatedly come on and off and then return at half power. It's a fire hazard. I called the company asking to have the circuits inspected replaced/repaired. So far I've called three times and even had the secretary send an email to MR Harris to contact me so I could explain my concern. No reply. Apparently the service contract is worthless. Standing behind your product is the hallmark of a reliable firm and here we have less than a shining example. If you are looking to simply buy and install a generator then they are fine but have another company wire the transfer switch and provide continuing maintenance.
