Description of Work: Atlantic Bay provided an estimate for a house closing. We did not use them because they could not compete with Bayport Credit Union. I would contact them in the future should the need arise.

 + -1 moreWe dealt with Ginny Phillips who was truly great. We were working on buying a short sale property, which is a months-long process. She hung with us, checking in regularly to see whether our needs had changed. She rapidly provided updated numbers based on the going rates and explored various options for down payments with us. Over the course of several months, she re-ran numbers for us numerous times, responding to questions by phone or email very quickly. You could tell that she was really interested in our business and was willing to the extra mile. In the end, we opted not to use Atlantic Bay because of a slight difference in the cost of the mortgage. We came to regret not using them however, as the customer service at our selected bank ended up being sub-par and the price difference basically nonexistent.
Description of Work: Provided us with numerous different competitively-priced financing options repeatedly over several months of searching for a new house.

 + -1 moreAs stated previously, I have been a closings for a number of homes, and I have got to say this was the easiest and most professional closing I have ever been to! Mr. Baldwin was there to ensure that everything went well (even though his office is in Newport News, he was willing to go to the closing in Chesapeake), which it did! Would I recommend Atlantic Bay Mortgage to my friends, neighbors, and colleagues??? You betcha! Call Mr. Baldwin -- you will be more than satisfied!
Description of Work: Unfortunately, due to the housing market and having a high interest rate on the current mortgage of 7.25%, I needed to refinance my eco-renovated home. My real estate agents had given me the name of a mortgage company who at the last minute, stated I didn't qualify for a refinance (even though my FICO score was well over 750 and my debt was miniscule). Upon further investigation, a colleague had recommended Mr. John Baldwin, Vice President, with Atlantic Bay Mortgage. I emailed Mr. Baldwin and met him in person and explained my situation. The application process was streamlined and easy. After a couple of additional questions and paperwork (since I am self-employed), Atlantic Bay's underwriting department was willing to "take a chance" on me (I have owned 5 previous homes over since 1978 and never have been late on my mortgages!) and within a couple of weeks, I was at closing with an FHA loan of 5 percent!
