Excellent. The two man team replaced the old unit with a more efficient product. Installation was professional and they hauled away the old unit. They throughly tested the new unit performance before leaving by going to the top floor and checking the water temperature. The new water heater was installed in June of 2019 and has operated perfectly ever since.

Water Heater Services did a fantastic job replacing my very old water heater and accommodating my specific situation and special requests. They installed a new 55-gallon water heater and brought it up to code by installing an expansion tank. They accommodated my additional request to install a comfort system to constantly bring hot water to my distant master bathroom, and also added a valve and connection for my humidifier. Finally, I was worried that I wouldn't have enough hot water in downsizing from an 80 gallon tank to a 50 gallon tank, so they also installed a mixing valve to mix very hot water from the tank with water from the cold line to make up for the reduced capacity. All in all, the system works great and the price was right.

Fast, efficient and reasonably priced. Curtis carries different models of water heaters in his truck and can respond in the same day you call. Moreover, he took the time to explain to me the quality upgrades in the new water heater and how to care for it. I would definitely recommend!

I called at 8 am and they were here at 10 am. The two gentlemen were friendly. I was told it would only take an hour and it did. The price is what they quoted. Before they left they explained to me all the work they did. I would recommend them to all my friends without hesitation.

Water Heater Replacement

Curtis and Kenny provided same day service, and were a pleasure to have doing the work. In our initial phone contact, Curtis addressed all my questions thoroughly and cordially, even when I went back to things previously addressed that I wanted to be sure I understood, expressly with respect to warranties. Kenny exercised great care bringing the new heater in, and taking the old heater out. Cleanup after the job was thorough, and Curtis provided a briefing on the new installation, a model with the State nameplate. Installation included addition of an expansion tank, as required by local code. As the old hot water heater was about 14 years old, and there have been some dramatic improvements in efficiency, which I expect to capture. I replied "N/A" with respect to price because I did not comparison shop. However, the price is within the normal range for this area. However, I would make this point: Plumbers do a lot of things in addition to installing hot water heaters, but this is what Curtis does exclusively. It is also what drew me to phone him. I figured that, If he sold an inferior product, or did not do the job well, he wouldn't be able to stay in business, or get high ratings on Angie's List.

Fast, knowledgeable, and professional. Curtis really knows water heaters and recommended a great solution to our water needs that included a booster mixing valve. Prompt and friendly- a great experience and would recommend most highly.

A+++!!! I had an absolutely phenomenal experience with Curtis and his assistant Kenny. The combination of quality, price and responsiveness can't be beat. From the time I first noticed a water leak under my old hot water heater until the time it was replaced was under 7 hours! I had previously called my regular plumber and it would be next day at the earliest and at a far higher price point. I reached Curtis when he was on the road for another call and he immediately gave me a quote for $1,448.84, which is his AngiesList special offer price. The two-man team arrived early and were courteous and professional. Curtis' pride in craftsmanship is evident both in his work and in his explanations of the many quality upgrades he included: overflow pan, 2-gal expansion tank, ball joint, brass drain valve, magnesium (vs aluminum) inner rod, etc... HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

OUTSTANDING Making certain that any electrical appliance is ‘up to code’ is very important to me. Without my even asking, Water Heater Services included this ‘code’ guarantee as part of its price during our initial phone conversation. Curtis and his assistant (I am embarrassed I do not remember his name) were courteous, prompt, and efficient. Curtis patiently explained to me his recommendations. When his words began to sound like another language, he did not try to impress me with his knowledge. Curtis was able to take his explanation to the 10,000’ layperson level. Replacing a ‘slowly’ leaking water heater turned into a joyful experience.

They came very quickly; communication was superb. The knowledge they had about water heaters was unreal and the passion they had for the job was obvious. Shared so much knowledge with me and did the job very well and fast. I was happy with the work completed.

They came out with a water heater quickly, maybe the next day. Unfortunately the unit began to fail within a month or 6 weeks. That was when we discovered that this installer DOES NOT SERVICE WHAT THEY INSTALL. We had to find other plumbers to repair the unit, this took two additional visits as the electronic part needed to be ordered from the mfr. The mfr did replace the part at no cost to us but our time. We thought this would have solved the problem, but it began to fail again after a week or so. The installer then stopped by without truck or tools and said that there was no problem with the installation, leaving us with a non-functioning water heater for a second time! and no intention to resolve this issue. This installer failed to mention that while the unit carries a warranty, they offer no service should there be any problem. He explained when we called to say that the water heater was not working that it wasn't worth their time to do service calls under warranty as he felt the reimbursement from the manufacturer was not sufficient. Further, they claimed that they only had 50 gallon water heaters on their truck when they came to install it, although we only requested a 40 gallon tank. I have no way of knowing whether this was an intentional up-selling or not, but it was another minor frustration for us. Subsequent plumbers have suggested that the installation may be at fault since a second electronic unit (the part that regulates the gas firing/heating) failed. We also learned that the INSTALLATION WAS NOT UP TO CODE: no expansion tank was installed, nor was a drip pan put in place. Further, a flexible gas line was installed where in the past a solid copper line was in place. There is no problem with access to this unit requiring this sort of connection. In addition, there may have been a problem with the way the venting was installed by this installer. In 30 years we had never had a problem with water heater venting, so this is a new issue. Manufacturer says the installation of the venting is the problem. The installers were pleasant and came right away, but they did not stand by their work, nor try to find any way to make things right--just asserted that everything was installed correctly despite evidence to the contrary. We are left having to pay another plumber to correct the installation venting issues and/or buy a second unit in just 4 months, as no new firm will warranty the unit after the repairs to date. This is a State brand water heater -- I cannot recommend this brand or this installer!
