Smith Roofing is a very professional roofing company. We had our roof replaced and it was a joy to work with this company to get a quality roof. The workers were all professional and very qualified. The materials used were of high quality and we also got our skylight replaced with a much better skylight. Excellent describes this company and we recommend them 100%.

George and his team were the best customer/contractor experience we have ever had. George came out right away and gave us a fair and accurate estimate. He was upfront, honest, and did not try to up-sell us at all. He was also super responsive and even did a drive by of a roof we were admiring to try and help us pick the right color. The day of the install, his crew was on-time, efficient, and did a great job of cleaning up. The finished product looks great and we are so pleased. I would not hesitate at all to recommend him and his team to anyone!

It went okay. He said that I would not be needing another roof for about a year or so.

Smith Roofing did a good job, replaced some wood , and replaced the roofing shingles. Having the job done by a local and well-established company with a skilled crew, was a plus, as was the initial evaluation and recommendations made by Mr. Smith.

A beautiful new CertainTeed roof with 2 replacement skylights was installed at our home in Montclair, Virginia for a fair price by a company with an experienced, long-standing crew. I had read an article about roofs and about what prices would be, and I had talked to someone about roofing in the past. In other words, I didn’t right at the time get any other estimates. I had received one before and then the neighbor, I really liked how his roof looked; and he recommend George Smith. So, I didn’t bother getting any others, I knew that his price was right in the ball park of what it should be. George Smith came in just under the cost of what others had told me. He stuck to the quote. He explained things very clearly, exactly what they would be doing and some of the little details that they include that many roofers don’t. My first impression was I felt good with going with them. George is very to the point, but he’s friendly and answers all the questions. I had a good feeling about it. Price – I thought it was fair, a good price.

They’re very good. What stood out to me the most was George Smith himself who owns the business, he is just a really fun fellow. One thing I did appreciate is that he was very prompt with returning calls and keeping me informed. He had to put me on his schedule, but then letting me know when they would be here. Then if I had any questions he always got right back to me. I thought the price was an “A”, if was competitive. They did a really nice job. It was a very good experience. I wish all my repair type things went as well. I’d highly recommend them.

Excellent. Initially I had contacted a roofer that had done a good job for me previously. He offered to send out a crew promptly, but said he'd have to charge extra because of overtime work on the weekend. As I had already put a temporary patch on the holes, I asked him to schedule during regular working hours, and he never got back to me after a few e-mails and voice messages. I called another company that had good recommendations, they sent an estimator out, gave me an acceptable price, but said they couldn't do the job for six weeks. Strike 2 So I contacted Smith Roofing, described the problem, e-mailed a couple of photos, and he got right back to me with a date. He called a couple of days before the scheduled repair date and said his crew was finishing up a job nearby and could come over in a couple of hours to fix my roof. They arrived when promised, finished the job in less than two hours, cleaned up nicely, including blowing leaves out of my gutters, and did the job at a lower price than the other two estimates that I had received.

George Smith was involved from beginning through the end. He brought over samples and recommended selecting three different colors. After color selections he provided addresses of homes with the roof color his crew installed. Truly helped with shingle selection. He has his own dedicated crew---no sub contracting. Professional and quality work. All debris and roofing nails were picked up and the job was spotless upon his crews departure. Top notch and highly recommend.

George was very responsive to our original request for a quote. He provided the quote when he said he would and it was within range of our research for our area. They did the job and also cleaned up everything! Never found a nail anywhere. Crew was very respectful because I came home at lunch to check on them. I have recommended George to many people!

They patched all leak points and even removed two old satellite dishes for no charge.  They are the best!

We got architectural shingles and they look great. The crew worked hard and cleaned up after themselves. The price was competitive. There was only one problem. We were missing gutter guards above our sunroom (they are on the rest of the house). We asked them if they could put some on - they said yes. We reminded them when they came to do the house. They said they would do this. After the roof was on, we asked if they had put the gutter guards on and they said they had. About a week after the roof was put on, we got on the roof and THERE WERE NOT GUTTER GUARDS ON THE SUNROOM. They had lied to us about putting them on. We called them and they said they would come and put them on. They have not done so and we have not heard back from them. For this reason, we will not recommend them to our friends.

They are a godsend and they know their stuff!!! I bought my house new 6 years ago. Ever since then, i have had leaks multiple times/yr after almost every major storm or high winds. Even had some of my shingles blow off and damage neighbors cars. The original roofer contracted by my association blamed it on the position of my townhouse style condo and its subjectivity to wind. I didnt buy it and finally requested a new roofer. Smith roofing was called and they immediately saw that my shingles were incorrectly installed (nailed too high so any high winds would rip the shingles off my roof). When it finally got warm, Smith roofing came out and replaced the entire roof (June 2015) and Ive had no leaks or blown shingles yet (there's has been a few high wind storms). They even thoroughly cleaned up after themselves. He is very busy and took longer than expected to come out and replace the roof, but made up for it with the quality of work. It was worth the wait.

Working with this company has been the best possible scenario in my expectations for this project. This company is the gold standard of professionalism and customer service! The owner promptly returned my calls, remained accessible throughout the entire process, patiently answered all of my questions, explained the process and presented options/recommendations, was completely dependable, and consistently did exactly what he said he would do. This was my first roof replacement, and I reviewed all the companies that I could, and read everything that I could find for the best understanding of the process, but, still had the jitters about selecting the best company for the job. I was immediately at ease upon meeting George. His breadth of experience, and depth of knowledge made this process far easier than anticipatedand hellip; I never had to guess at anything, and the only surprise was that I loved the roof (and the awesome curb appeal) far more than I could have imagined. Scheduling was always easy and timely, excellent pricing/exceptional value, the crew was prompt and hardworking, quality of work was superb, and cleanup was impeccableand hellip; professionalism throughout the entire process. This company has gained a loyal customer!

Mr.George Smith is a very honest and down to earth guy. He would not try to sell anything on you. He is very professional and gives you full details of the work with pictures. He is onetime and quick to respond. I highly recommend him. I will definitely always hire him for my roof work.

I love this guy George. He is so refreshingly honest. This is the second roof he has done for us, the first on our previous house. He's on time, he has the best prices, and he does a great job. He has a very reliable crew. My roof is beautiful. They had to replace alot of boards as the roof was leaking. I watched them measure, cut, and fit that wood as tight as a thread. I will use them again and again. Thanks George!

Excellent experience. I called Mr. Smith and he called me back within a couple of hours and came by the house that same day to give me an estimate. He inspected the roof, wrote up a report, removed an old satellite dish and some wiring and caulked the holes.
His price originally included a gutter cleaning but we opted out of it and he was very gracious about it. His price was excellent and the work was done the next day and the invoice came in the mail a few days later. Simple, clean and painless.
The only gripe I have is that the roof inspection report could have been a little more detailed, but the buyer's agent called and had his questions answered so it was not a problem.
We will deffinitely use Mr. Smith again. In fact, I need to call him about the new house.

First he came and gave us an estimate very quickly. He left us roofing tile samples, explained the various grades of tiles, and answered all our questions. Once we proceeded with the work, he and his crew came out on time and finished up the work in the time frame promised. There were rotted sheets of plywood that had to be replaced which, initially, we were unaware of. George gave us the updated information and assured us that all required replacements would be done. After the job was completed, Smith Roofing left our home, yard, and decks clean and debris free.

Was quick to respond to phone call. Got name from Angie's List and from my coworker. George came out the day after I called gave us an estimate and his workers were out the next day to replace the missing shingles and took a satellite dish off the roof and replaced those shingles too.

The workers showed up at the time George said they would, they did all the repairs on they said they would. And they left. George came by to make sure every thing was alright . George also checked up in the attic to see if there was any wetness and while he was up there he even checked for any kind of animals to ease my mind... What a guy!
