Wheels and Tires
After the new tires and wheels were installed, I began to notice a vibration in the steering wheel at 60 - 70 mph. I took the car back and they rebalanced the front wheels at no charge. Problem was not solved, so I took the car back again on 02/8/2016 and asked them to actually drive the car. They kept it overnight and told me they "did not notice a vibration," (typical response) but that they would install hub centric rings on all four wheels "just in case."
The hub centric rings solved about 90 percent of the vibration problem. They did not totally solve the problem because 3 of the 4 rings were installed crooked. I finally went to NTB (National Tire and Battery) and paid them to do the job over.
Note: Proline custom wheels are a brand name for Pep Boys products. The wheels are assembled and shipped from the Pep Boys warehouse at 3111 West Allegheny Ave., Philadelphia, PA 19132. There is no phone number for the facility, and no one to answer technical questions about the chrome wheels.
