Mr. Distasio was recommended to us by someone whose house we visited. He had made a very nice window seat cushion for them, which is exactly what we needed.  WhenI called him, he offered to come by the house to look at the space. I was worried he woudl charge us, but he did not. He came to our house and gave us an estimate of how much the cushion would cost and how much fabric we would need.  Once we had the fabric, I called him back and he came within a few days to measure the space.  He made a pillow that fits perfectly in the space and delivered it at no extra charge.  He also put a zipper along the length of it so it is easy to remove and clean the cover. It looks great.
He then also gave us an estimate on repadding and reupholstering my parent's dining room chairs.  Again we purchased the fabric and then he picked up the chairs and delivered them reupholstered.  HIs work is excellent.
We were not in a big hurry on either job so I do not know the exact timing, but it did not take long to do either project.  Mr. Distasio is also extremely pleasant and professional.  He was very honest with us about the cost of reupholstering one of our sofas, and warned us it might be cheaper to buy a new one.  The day he delivered the chairs I was not home in time, so he left them anyway with my son and then came back later that night to settle our bill, without any complaint about having to make the extra trip.
Just for the record, he is quite informal in terms of quotes and invoices.  The quotes were verbal - but the price did not change when it came time to pay.  And he did not provide a written invoice until I asked.  Again not a problem, but just so you know.
