Move4U will break your furniture, damage your home, blame you for their errors, hide behind their mistakes, and hang up on you when you express concern about the quality of their service. I was promised a "full service move" for a flat rate of $250. What I received was sloppy, dishonest services. At first, I was impressed by their punctuality and how quick/efficient they were with the moving service, but I soon learned that their speed was to cover up the damages. As soon as they were done working at my house, I looked around and the movers were not to be found - they were waiting in their truck to follow me to my office. Upon arriving home later, I discovered several scratches on the walls and a broken banister. They moved quickly out of the house to hide the damages. Once at the office, the service seems to be going well. Upon inspection after they left, my desk had been broken in various places and hardware was missing. I called Shawn about the broken pieces, and he insisted that it was MY fault, that the desk has been assembled improperly. Plus, they had to remove and reinstall a door to get the desk out of my house, and he should have charged me more to begin with, so there's nothing he would do about the broken desk. Keep in mind I was promised a "full service move." If Shawn wanted to nickel-and-dime the move, he had the opportunity to do so at first agreement. This call ended with Shawn hanging up on me. Is that the kind of service you want, or the kind of people you want to invite into your home? Avoid Move4U at all costs. They are dishonest, and will not take responsibility to their sloppy actions. PS. Never hire a company that doesn't make you sign some kind of agreement. The fact that Shawn and the movers had no written agreement proves they're amateurs and are not serious about their business.

NIGHTMARE. To be fair, the owner of the company booked this move and then (as his mother put it) made an impulse decision to go on vacation. So he was not involved with the move. HUGE mistake. We had asked for the first two moves to be in a specific order when booked and made other appointments based on this schedule. Mr. Dao had asked that we reverse the order for his convenience. We did and rescheduled our plans. Two days before the move his mother e-mailed us and asked that we change the pick up order. We did and rescheduled our plans. She later e-mailed again telling us to switch the pick order back to the original. We did and changed our schedules. There were four people involved with four very different work and appointment schedules being changed each time. The movers prepared to leave the first stop on time; they asked for directions to the second stop. While they were given easy directions, the driver then stated he would go another way. The second stop was thirty minutes away. Tops. They left at 9:10 and arrived at the next stop at ***11:45 a.m.*** The ONLY phone call we received was when they were less than five minutes away and lost in our subdivision. They had THREE phone numbers for us. I asked the driver several times why they had not called and was virtually ignored. We had called their contact number several times and it went to voice mail. We were later told the owner's mother had the phone with her at her work and would not pick it up while there. The driver barely missed our car, clipped the mailbox flowers and then drove onto the lawn while backing up into our driveway. His excuse for being late was traffic in Manassas. It was revealed later that they had been hopelessly lost. We are in Great Falls. They ended up in Leesburg! But then, they had not wanted to follow the directions they were given. Then began the real nightmare. The driver had NO clue what he was doing yet when his assistant offered polite (correct) suggestions, he was told to "shut up -- you're my helper -- you're not paid to think." This happened several times. We were horrified. I asked that special care be taken with the (new) tables and I was told by the driver I was being "picky." They were tossed on top of the sofa with one unattached blanket thrown on top (and it slid off before the truck was closed). We discovered after they left they had punched two holes in the stairwell drywall and gouged a corner of the kitchen wall (a custom paint job). Neither man had said a word about the damage. The driver asked my husband for directions and then walked away while he was talking. The movers made it to the last stop. Although hopelessly behind schedule, the driver did nothing to help the situation. He would load the hand truck and sit in the truck while the "helper" who was easily half his height and weight struggled to get the load up the stairs and in the house. Again, while he was the most knowledgeable about how to move things and again and again, he was told to "shut up" -- at BOTH locations! They had difficulty getting the mattress up the stairs and the driver announced he was going to leave it in the living room. It was one of the other vendors working in the house who told him that was not going to happen, they needed the room to work. In time, the mattress went up the stairs but not without blackening the brand new paint job on the ceiling. As they left, the driver handed my daughter the feet that belonged on the furniture; he could not be bothered putting it back together. This was an experience like no other. We have used this company before (always for small moves); while service has been simply all right, it was NOTHING like this! Looking back, this was the second time we were not told Mr. Dao would not be making the move himself (he was on vacation that time, also) but at least in the past competent people were sent to do the job. I had specifically told Mr. Dao there were two pieces of heavy furniture involved. The driver seemed genuinely suprised when told this and made no effort to hide his anger and displeasure. The driver is Mr. Dao's father. Please note: kudos need to go to his helper! He was more than polite to us and assured me several times he would take care of things. My daughter said he even wiped down her tables when he brought them in the house. Unfortunately, you cannot contract for only one mover! It is a combination of things: disregard for the customer's time, disregard for the customer's property and quite honestly, the way one employee mistreated the other which would prompt us never to use this vendor again. There is enough stress in moving as it is! This is one time when being family owned is not a plus!

They arrived punctually at the appointed time, calling us beforehand to check we were at the old house and ready for them. They reviewed our boxes and furniture and calculated how best to load it safely on their truck. They unloaded at the other end and carried things to whichever floor we wanted in the new house. Both houses were townhouses with lots of stairs, the day was very hot, but they worked quickly and constantly and without complaint.
