Edwin reassured me that he was up for the job. He and his guys worked tirelessly from a Friday to Monday morning, completely tearing down and rebuilding my ceiling. It was done impeccably and passed inspection and the house sold. Edwin kept me in the loop every step of the way, was punctual and professional. He really helped me in a bind and the price was competitive. I have since used him and his company for multiple projects to include room and shelves painting, removal of built-ins (after which he reconstructed trim where the built-ins had been to match the rest of the room perfectly), garage door and trim painting and hiding wires for nanny cameras and reconstructing/painting drywall. I have never been disappointed. I give him my strongest recommendation. He is highly skilled and worthy of your time.

The owner of JC Custom Painting was professional and very knowledgeable about materials and paints. He was also honest in advising what materials to use and what not to use. His communication was great, and he always returned my calls. JC Custom Painting made several repairs on my home. They always showed up, worked hard, and completed the work in a timely manner. They also did an excellent job of power washing the small front porch, steps, and walkway. I will use his company again for future repairs and painting.

JC's painters did an excellent job of first prepping the areas to be painted, The floors were completely covered with heavy painters' paper and all hardware was removed. They taped off any area where two colors met (for example, between wall color and trim color). They fixed all the nail pops and other wall blemishes. Then they put on two coats of the best paint with a light sanding in between. Clean-up was as thorough as the preparation. When they finished, 6 days later, we had a perfect paint job. The quality of the work was the best I've ever seen. I couldn't find any defects. Well worth the cost.

They were terrific to work with. They brought the paint, and matched the wall where they were making repairs, the ceiling is painted flawlessly and everything looks great! Would definitely use again for any painting project!

This was a major project, a two-story, five bedroom house, that naturally caused disruption in our daily routines, but Edwin and his crew were especially sensitive to our needs and our comings and goings. The house was being prepared to go on the market, and Edwin seemed to know exactly what was needed, including the shade of paint that the real estate industry is recommending these days. This was confirmed by our Realtor. Edwin made several excellent suggestions for making the house more attractive to prospective buyers (also confirmed by the Realtor). His crew worked quickly and efficiently, and were very professional and friendly throughout the project. As the crew worked along, they made several needed drywall repairs that were needed after old fixtures had been removed. I would definitely hire them again.

Edwin had told us that he would “do the best job of anyone out there”, and now that the job is over, I can honestly say he was not exaggerating. Excellent. Edwin and his crew were consummate professionals. Their prep work was outstanding as they filled in numerous nail pops and re-caulked all the the seams. Their finish painting was razor sharp.

These painters are the best! They came on time and started prepping the house like a machine! They removed all the light switch and outlet covers. Mirrors too. Placed drop cloths over all the floors and began working. They were efficient and skilled. No jagged lines, no streaks... They even helped us patch some holes in our drywall that the electrician had to make when installing some lights. Just like new! All the painters were friendly and respectful. Edwin gave us a great idea of how to paint our ceiling trim design to make it pop! And that it does!!! Its beautiful!!!! So glad I listened to Edwin. This company is A+ professional and provides excellent quality paint service!!!

My kitchen cabinets needed repainting. The paint that was previously applied was chipping; I wanted a quality paint job. JC Custom Painting uses only quality paint and applied several layers, allowing each to dry totally. The work was done thoroughly, the crew did a very professional job, and the kitchen looks brand new. The crew took good care of my belongings and covered everything with plastic or drop cloth. The price was extremely reasonable. I am planning another project with JC Painting. That’s how pleased I am with the work!

I cannot say enough good things about this company! After waiting 23 years to paint the interior of my house, I was determined to find the "best" possible painters. During our initial visit, the owner, Edwin, appeared passionate about his work, and I immediately felt like I would NOT be just another paint job. He spent time explaining, in detail, how he would fix the long cracks in the ceilings as well as stipulating that two coats was his norm to achieve the best outcome. He even offered subtle advice on colors and shared many pictures of past finished projects. In order to monitor and maintain his company's high standards, he keeps his work crew small. Each worker proved to be pleasant, hard-working, talented, and knowledgeable. As a self-proclaimed perfectionist, I appreciated wholeheartedly that they took their time to do things right. By the time they finished painting the ceilings (some 18'), walls, wood windows, doors, and all the trim, they had truly transformed my home into a new-looking house! One of the painters even helped me hang a very difficult mirror which took time and patience. He also did an awesome job re-caulking around granite counter tops which "fixed" the poor job done by the initial installer. Similarly, a section of my chair-rail had previously been installed incorrectly and Edwin offered to re-do it (no extra charge.) I'm so happy he did because the finished result was perfect! But the best part was they didn't leave until I was satisfied with everything, truly unheard of with other companies. They have already done a second job that included lots of touch up and difficult dry wall repairs after new stairs and floors were installed as well as some exterior painting (the painter even trimmed a tree first!) For sure, there's no question who I'll be calling for the next paint project!

The work went extremely well. First, Mr. Lizama came to the house, surveyed the project and gave me the estimate (which held true), and told me exactly when they could schedule the work. His crew arrived on time on the scheduled date and set to work immediately. They covered the kitchen floor and appliances with a heavy paper (taped down) to protect them from drips and splashes. Then they set up a work area in an adjacent empty room and covered that floor to protect it. They then removed all the cabinet doors and the drawers, removed the knob and handles and stored them, and placed the doors and drawers in the empty room where they were sanded and refinished, and all the cabinet frameworks in the kitchen were sanded and refinished, They also hung plastic sheets over the doorways to the rest of the house to prevent sanding dust from migrating. Lastly, they replaced the door knobs and drawer handles and reinstalled them. The project took place three days to complete, mostly because of the drying time required between staining and the protective finishing coats. I must say that they were very professional and meticulous in going about their work, and cleaned up very nicely at the end of each day. The cabinets look beautiful, and I would definitely hire this company again for other painting projects.

Edwin and his team did an amazing job! I don’t have anything bad to say. They went above and beyond to fix some issues when our previous painters were a bit sloppy.

I have a new construction home but the finishes were poorly done. I was looking to paint the main living areas and Edwin suggested we not only paint the walls but touch up the trim as well to get a quality finished look. His team of workers arrived promptly each day and the first day they layed down paper protection on the hardwoods and tape as they made their way into the house and put plastic on the carpeted areas. They covered all the furniture with plastic without me even asking. They sanded the poorly finishised trim and gave it two coats of paint then did the same to the walls. It looks fantastic. The stairway bannister was not constructed properly and Edwin said knew a carpenter who could fix it. In one day they tore it off, patched it up, measured and cut new pieces of trim and painted several coats on it. It was done by 5pm and it now looks like it should have when I bought it. While he was there my husband wanted the garage floor finished so he worked that in too and it was painted, clear coated and the carpenter trimmed it out with baseboards. He loves it. Edwin always responded to me promptly thru texts and phone calls and his crew was hard working. I’m pretty particular with painters but these guys are fast and they are good; they sand, they caulk and they make straight lines. I have recommended them to 2 family members and one curious neighbor who came over to see what was going on. I will have them back to finish up the bathrooms soon. Highly recommend.

Edwin and his team are amazing! Great detail and through work done! They taped trim, placed plastic over furniture that could not be moved, set drop cloths throughout and went to work. He fixed wall imperfections and had my entire home looking beautiful! He listened to what I wanted and got the job done right the first time. He suggested colors that would work best and look beautiful. We will hire him again when our basement is complete. JC Painting is the way to go. Reasonably priced and timely job completion.

Edwin and his crew are true artists. We hired them to hang crown molding in two rooms and he suggested a shadow box chair rail in the dining room as well. It turned out better than we could have ever imagined. He and his crew are highly professional and we loved their work so much we decided to finish the crown molding throughout the house and have them build built ins in our living room. Highly recommend for any building or paint project you may have!

He listens to your requests and expectations and offers his input on design aspects. He truly delivers amazing quality and exceeded our expectations. The company did extremely well for us. We had drywall and insulation gone from the bottom of half of our basement walls due to flooding! JC came in with a competitive price, arrived on time, and met my deadlines as I had other contractors coming in right behind them. The painting and baseboard work is professional and looks better than the original! There was a problem exactly matching the paint since the original paint was from 2007 so they simply painted the whole basement instead of just the bottom half at no extra charge! I highly recommend this company.

JC Custom Painting was a referral by a friend. I received several quotes, however, Edwin's was the most comprehensive. Our home is new construction and there was a lot left be desired by the builders. We wanted a coffered ceiling, custom pantry, additional crown molding, trim around all the windows, shadow boxes in the dining room, a barn door, and paint top to bottom. Edwin explained the process, and time required, and once we settled on the cost, he was the obvious choice. First, he was the most detailed. I could tell that quality was his number one concern. He takes great pride in his work and demands those who work for him to the do the same. Second, his confidence was reassuring. He came to the house each day and oversaw that what he promised was being delivered. We were on a very tight deadline due to the fact we had to move into our home by a certain date. Their team worked tirelessly to make sure the project was done on time, and to my specifications. It was a really large undertaking, but he was sure he could handle it, and he did! He offered suggestions on how to make things a little better and provided guidance when I wasn't sure. Everything is beautiful! Far exceeding what I could've envisioned. The products he used were high quality, the carpentry is absolutely gorgeous! The house is everything I wanted and more. I would recommend him to anyone! If you want QUALITY then I would hire them. There is something to be said about a company that has pride in what they do.

Our Townhouse rental property in Alexandria was severely damaged by tenants. We moved to Richmond last year so managing a project this size from 110 miles away seem overwhelming. JC Custom Painting came in and repaired major drywall damage, pluming problems, replaced carpet, hung new mini blinds and hung new ceiling fans. They got rid of the horrible pet urine and fecal odor that consumed the townhouse. Don't want to sound gross but this place was really nasty. Don't let the "Painting" fool you. JC Custom Paining arranged the different trades, made recommendations on the flooring type, paint, blinds etc that helped make the townhouse looks awesome. JC also painted the exterior. Some wood on the exterior was beginning to rot. I had not noticed. JC pointed it out and corrected to stop future more expensive repairs. The townhouse did not look like the same property. We had 4 offers to rent within the first 48 hour of it being back on the market. JC Custom Painting has done work for my wife and I now for 8 plus years. They are consistently honest, fair and complete work on schedule. Have recommended JC Custom Painting to family and friends and they have always been extremely happy with work preformed for them. Before finding JC Custom Painting I was burned several times. NOVA is filled with rip off artists operating out of a pick up truck.
